    The Big Ten Conference will not play any intercollegiate sports this fall, including football. That’s the latest report coming from multiple outlets, including several Big Ten-based publications and nationally syndicated radio programs.

    The curtain has fallen on the college football season in one of the sport’s biggest draws before it ever lifted.

    Good. These schools will lose a **** ton of money because of this stupidity. Hopefully it leads to the dismissal of a lot of liberal lunatic professors

    So we should shut down the country every flu season? Why didn't anything stop during H1N1, Ebola, etc?

    It's not conspiracy bullshit. People get sick with colds and flus every month of every year since the world began. Why is this propped up as the bubonic plague, when it is statistically no more dangerous than anything else, except maybe to nursing home patients? Yeah, I'm guessing the election and mail in voting has a tiny bit to do with it. If you disagree then you need help.

    Why has New Zealand been fully 'open', and not had a single new case in 100 days? Guess there isn't an election there this year

    We will hardly hear about it IF a vaccine comes out and IF the. Accidentally is successful.

    You ever consider the fact that people under 25 even younger kids can and do spread the virus!

    I am heartbroken over the loss of the college football season. This was to be the first year that our state school was going Indie which is difficult under the best of circumstances but this Virus. FUBAR'd the program and I am believing that we will never recover from it.

    Vaccines, antivirals, and the size of the infection.

    No one is propping this as the bubonic plague except for conspiracy theorists trying to craft a strawman, like yourself. America is losing 1,000 per day STILL from Covid-19 and you have the nerve to dismiss those deaths because "people get sick every month of every year since the world began."

    New Zealand is fully open with zero new community spread cases in the last 100 days because they have a competent leader who pushed ruthlessly for very strict pandemic control measures instead of Trump who repeatedly lied about the virus and encouraged every State to re-open their economies before a single State had met even the minimal standards for starting phase one.

    Report: The Big Ten hasn’t played football in 6 years.
    And that’s only because back in 2014 Ohio State got lucky, I still can’t believe it, and used a 2nd and 3rd string quarterback to beat Alabama and Oregon in the first year of the playoff format National Championship. All other Big 10 games are aired in the ladies room.

    What are the long term effects of the virus ?

    What about the student athletes becoming carriers ? Can you guarantee that no coaches (who are much older) will not contract the virus?

    I would really like to see Big10 football (i live in Iowa), but not seeing any games this year is a small price to pay for the safety and well being of others.
