The end result here is the bipolarization of trade and order in the world. East vs West. We allowed China to rise in power while we grew fat and lazy with cheap trade and goods.

You are correct that we sold ( my word) ourselves to be business vassals of China. Our international oriented business organization thought that they could feast on cheap Chinese labor without unintended ramifications. The intended consequence was that it reduced the American labor force hence reduced the power of American labor unions. Of the insane thing that our US corporations did was to give away our technology to China and was blind to Nina stealing our technology. The later was because both parties were asleep on watch. Cheap Chinese labor was the Trojan Horse.
