    Intelligent responses from you.

And this is why we have a shortage of eligible men. Because men like you take yourself out of the dating pool. ;-)

Not all responses are idiotic. Some are, yes. We complain about lack of eligible men..but I am sure they are complaining about lack of eligible women. I think morals on both are lacking in the past decades and relationships/ marriages just arent what they should be.

It seems like both sides like to play games and/or everyone is always looking for the next best thing.

I dont know his stance on other topics..I am just commenting on THIS thread.

Isn't this an off topic troll post. I know she's a feminist, but shouldn't she be held to the same standards as everyone else???

I mean, I thought this was a site that valued unbiased moderation???

I cant but agree, tho I'd express it in terms of character rather than morals. Maybe it comes to the same thing.

A person who does not have good character is worse than worthless.

Exactly. Especially considering the outcome of divorce that almost certainly favors women and enslaves men to child support and a lifetime of alimony.

This is a growing problem as women become disproportionately represented in the higher levels of education. It also shows the futility of the feminist movement as they are realizing that getting educated isn't a real substitute for a good man.

Feminists are generally hostile towards men being able to do something better than they can (promiscuous sex) and the irony is that if they weren't out being sluts, men would not actually be getting as much promiscuous sex, but then feminism never was a social welfare argument.

Feminists talking about character, now that is rich :roflol:

From the Journal of Aggression, Conflict and Peace Research

“This drop in IPV against females and steady rate of violence against males raises an interesting policy question. There are many thousands of support programs, web sites and public-interest media items for female victims of domestic violence (DV), and virtually no programs and only a handful of web sites in the USA for male victims. Perhaps these programs and public education efforts have resulted in males, but not females, getting the message that DV is wrong.”

“…those that are the core of the DV service system: DV agencies, DV hotlines, and the police. On the one hand, about 25% of men who sought help from DV hotlines were connected with resources that were helpful. On the other hand, nearly 67% of men reported that these DV agencies and hotline were not at all helpful. Many reported being turned away. The qualitative accounts in our research tell a story of male helpseekers who are often doubted, ridiculed, and given false information.”

In 41.5 percent of the cases where men called the police, the police asked if he wanted his partner arrested; in 21 percent the police refused to arrest the partner, and in 38.7 percent the police said there was nothing they could do and left

    I didn't know what a lunk was.

    as defined:

    Overweight - check
Lacks creativity - check (I do not have an artistic sense of aesthetics, my sister inherited that particular genetic trait.)
Barely literate - uhhhh well I'm literate and somewhat informed.

    2 out 3 ain't bad...sorry isn't bad.

I'm not a lunk (head) in the fully defined sense of the word. I have hobbies outside of watching television, to add another counter to being regarded as a lunk head.

    Therefore your insult is contested!

I actually like women and perceive them as fully human and not just objects for leering and fantasy...seems to me, it's the feminist that hates us. (males)
    I do not hate women.

With all due respect your mom was wrong. The only people who ever make such comments are those who are happy with their lives and want others to live the same way whether they are happy or not.

We are not here to further the species. Sure many biologists and others will say this is what the sex drive and other instincts is for but that is irrelevant. Pursuit of ones happiness is a basic human right probably the most important of all basic human rights. Except for the right to define ones own happiness since one cannot pursue what one cannot identify.

A growing number of men are simply doing this. These individuals reject what society, churches, government, and your mom state is the purpose of life or the means to happiness. You certianly have the right to say you think these individuals are sad, pathetic, selfish or whatever but in general each of them does not care. You cannot decide and have no ability to judge what will be a meaningful happy life.

In fact it is your labeling of such men which is driving the growth of men turning away from traditional norms. As pointed out everyone tells us what to want and what a " happy meaningful life " will consist of ( marriage family house etc. ). However when we see our friends, dads, brothers, coworkers destroyed and made miserable by this standard more and more turn away and accept the labels and names and snide opinions of others as irrelevant.

If you want men to reverse the trend and stop turning away from marriage you can only do so by reversing the trend and making marriage more appealing to men

Then why are you so concerned about a growing number of men not marrying

Or maybe you are only right for yourself.

It is hard to really refer to it as a movement because it has no rules or membership or leadership or manifesto or anything else organizing it. But in general it is referred to as Men Going Their Own Way or MGTOW.

Everyone involved or identified with this movement has a different idea about it but the one thing they all agree on is decide for yourself what will bring happiness and pursue it.

For many men confirmed bachelor status actually does bring fulfilling meaningful lives. Of course for some it brings a " hollow " life. You claim you are missing something or feel your life is lacking. I feel the opposite. It is not just a few plusses and a little freedom but truly deep happiness and satisfaction which at my age seems uncommon for married men. I am almost fifty and love my life which is a single life. We can argue all day about whether more men are happy when single or married but ultimately it is about each individual deciding for himself and what bothers people is more and more men are deciding marriage is not right for them. Or even co - habitation or long term relationships.

Who is it that told us that marriage is a calling anyways? Probably a female. After all it is the fruition of most women's dreams since childhood. Most of them play house, they stage play weddings, they marry Barbie off to Ken over and over. They play with dolls and pretend to be a mom When they get married they get all of those childhood dreams for real. The wedding, the kids, the house, and of course a man to pay for all or most of it.

Most boys dream of other things as children such as being a sports star or rock star or astronaut or superhero or whatever. When we get married we are told to put aside childish things ( our dreams ) and sacrifice for the family. Why would this make men happy again? Once again over half of all marriages fail and when they do the man gets wrecked 90% of the time. Happiness again?

Long before I ever heard of MGTOW I figured out something wierd. I had been dumped by a girlfriend and was sad. A friend pointed out that you have to be happy with yourself before you can be happy with someone else. I learned she was correct and then I realized If I am happy by myself why do I NEED happyness with another. For a long time now I have been happy with my life and more so everyday when I realize it is mine. I need not share it with another the purpose of my life IS my own happiness.

I'm not unhappy. Just in retrospect at this particular stage in it, I realize the value of legacy and mentoring. Marriage is indeed a compromise and a sacrifice of the "id" which exists solely for the pleasure principle. The pursuit of "happiness" itself is a mischaracterization of life's purpose and/or meaning. At least in my view...a life lived solely for the pleasure principle, to constantly seek a state of "happiness" is an empty vessel...light perhaps, but it's purpose is to carry. Frequently, I find men wanting to avoid any "weight" in life...a wife, a child (children), a career. Ultimately living life as an empty vessel.

Again, my perception of course. Your mileage may vary.

I realize Taikoo is a feminist, and feminism is politically correct, and I realize men's natural instinct is to protect women. But shouldn't feminists be held to the same standards as everyone else, especially on a site that supposedly values unbiased moderation?

I mean if feminism just means, 'equality' shouldn't women who are feminists be treated just like everyone else, no special treatment???

If an egalitarean gets an infraction for a post not nearly as bad as a feminist's post isn't this biased moderation???

good post - and it just highlights the fact that feminism is NOT about equality, no, it's about giving more undeserved power to women

I love how feminists shame men for not marrying by saying they have low character when they opt out of a system feminists have created that's openly hostile towards men and fathers.

Since it's OK for feminists to create off topic troll posts, but it's not OK for anyone else to create a post that may be considered slightly off topic, not only is this an example of feminist anti-intellectualism, it's also another example of female privilege and matriarchy.

Can anyone guess why women might be hostile toward the kind of guys who keep posting screeds here?

I contest it too, it was not directed at you.

There are some self styled "feminists' who hate men, there are self styled Christians who hate whoever they hate.

And we see plenty of men who hate / feel contempt for women.

Anyone who uses prostitutes is contemptible in the extreme, and
probably somewhere inside they know that. good enough reason to turn it inside out and project more hate onto the women they degrade and
    hep to enslave.

This is probably a direct result of the increase of "hipsters" and effeminate guys wearing skinny jeans. I am not saying that every guy should grow a beard and wear biker jackets but for crying out loud, what happened to males in the last few years?

I've been to Amsterdam, and the notorious "Red Light" district...where women display themselves in windows, scantily clad, for sexual relations to anyone with enough Euros. To me it was far from arousing, it was disgusting...a literal meat market. [IMG]...the commodification of the most intimate act human beings can engage in.

Soulless, about sums it up...a degradation of both the female "advertising" her wares, her sexuality...and the male relegated to purchasing intimacy.

While the Netherlands is an otherwise, quaint and beautiful place...the Red Light district is not a place I care to ever experience again...yet it is more often glorified and redeemed in popular culture. I regard it as a place where the soul goes to die.

No, but I can guess why feminists would be hostile towards the guys who post here:

Feminists are hostile towards the men who post here because the men who post here believe in equality.

    That is a pathetic comment.

If you don't want to be a hooker then don't be one.

It's a job just like any other.
