You are correct murder is an individual decision but it should still be illegal with or without a majority vote. Women are in charge of their own bodies I just want them to use them responsibly and not hurt anyone else in the process including their unborn children.

    I can understand that.

I assume that you believe in an after life of some kind?

See, I do not. I think this is the ONLY life we get. Period. When its over, lights out.

So with that in mind, you only have one shot in THIS life to be happy. To lead the life you want. If that life does NOT include a child, then that should be your choice. And the includes NOT giving birth. There are many health risks to giving birth. Its still in the top 3 killers of women on this planet.

So forcing a women to go through a birth for a child she doesnt want makes no sense to me.

Since abortion is not illegal, it is not murder. That is because a majority believe that abortion IS responsible, and a zef is not "anyone else", and the term "unborn children" is an oxymoron. It matters not that it is a majority opinion because women will decide for themselves as they have for thousands of years.

The death penalty is legal and it is also murder. Legality has nothing to do with right and wrong.

Legality does have something to do with the definition of murder, and that means the death penalty is also NOT murder.

Indeed. I am pleased that Americans respects a woman's right to make her decisions concerning such private matters and do not allow the State to deny her that right until there is a compelling reason to do so - at the stage of gestation when another person has actually developed, and not before. Meanwhile, you enjoy your right to proselytize your beliefs, but not to inflict them upon others via government dictate.

Once one surrenders control of every womb to a bureaucracy, it could order abortions as well as proscribe them, and that would be unacceptable.

What you believe is irrational, simple as that. The fetus is not a person, never has been and never will be. If we knuckle under to the anti-abortionists, birth control will be illegal next. Count on that, many of the "pro-lifers" will even admit it.

So you have a definition from the dictionary I will accept that if you can agree that the Government cannot murder anyone as long as they make a law saying it is ok. Of course some may feel that the government has it wrong and is committing murder.

But, If that is so then I am willing to say anyone can change the word murder in my posts to Kill if that makes it fit within the definition as provided and you agree that the government cannot murder anyone if the law it creates ok's it.

Or we can quit the word games since you know very well what I mean and we can continue to debate the topic.

Abortion has been illegal in the past. Why did that not happen before?

It did. Women were not always as respected and were not always accorded the rights they have achieved.

. Look to your post 22. You didn't refer to a woman giving birth to a fetus. You rightly said giving birth to a child. I think we all know what it is. Some people want to run and hide from the truth.

Until birth, the fetus is nothing more than a parasitic growth on the woman. Period.

I put yes, because one of the options wasn't danger to the mother, fetus or the fetus is already dead. Those are the exceptions I support

I do know very well what you mean, you mean to use inflammatory and hyperemotional language to attempt to sway the debate your way.

Yes, as long as a man is forced to give up his rights to his progeny at the whim of a woman. However, Roe happened so...never mind.

You could easily re-word the question: "Should a woman be forced not to kill the unborn baby in her womb?" As someone who is pro-life, I believe the answer is yes, however, unknown most Conservatives I know I don't believe I have the moral authority to decide in cases where the health of the mother/fetus is in question, rape or incest, although I do note that in cases of rape and incest the child in the womb is an innocent in the matter (and not a children that are products of incest are born with mental defects).

So once you realize that a fetus isn't a child the problem is solved....

Christians will happily use their faith to justify their opposition to abortion, homosexual marriage, and pretty much everything else they oppose, however they will never recognize these verses. Accept none or accept all. They've obviously chose the former.

Conservatives use religion mainly to justify their hatred of anybody and everybody who disagrees with them about anything. Abortion is a good example. They see pregnancy and having to raise a child as a proper punishment for an "mmoral" woman who dares to have sex for any reason other than procreation. The business about human life is all smoke and mirrors. Total BS.

The Christians could easily prevent just about every abortion planned if they would just put their money where their mouths are. If the Churches would pay a woman $5,000 to have a baby while offering to handle its adoption they'd probably have to turn women away

This topic is kind of a non-issue as abortion is legal in the U.S.

No, the topic-starter clearly believes a woman should never be forced to give birth against her will and that thus a woma should be allowed to have an abortion until the day before birth. That is not the current law in the US or in any country that I'm aware of.

Well...in that case unless there is an issue of Health to the Mother and that is determined by a Doctor whether it is physical or mental....or a case on incest or rape...the abortion will not take place.

And so the woman will be forced to give birth.
