Besides, a lot of us would be surprised to learn how few old people enjoy being alive on this incredibly fugged-up planet with 7.8 billon others -- many of whom make living today a misery nobody dared seriously even to imagine just thirty short years ago....

Well, you can 'split hairs' if you like. If you won't treat someone who needs medical care then that is simply another way of getting "rid of them", as I said. And if a person is excluded merely because of being elderly, then that speaks eloquently to the point of getting "rid of them" also.

It's a GREAT way for the government to help bolster the Social Security system, because even though we are all forced by law to pay into the system all our working lives, all payments to that worker STOP when the person dies -- nothing can be 'willed' to the children, grandchildren, or anybody else....

."Hey, could you move it along here?!" -- "But, I'm dyin' as fast as I can!"

The concept of founding a country that wants the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It applies to everyone from newborn babies to 87 year old smokers. Is that supposed to be clever? Comparing the intentional killing of a healthy baby with merely denying hospitalization, in a pandemic, to an 80 year old patient with an infectious disease?

LOL, if you really believed that, and you obviously do not, you wouldn't condemn the idea of selectivity in treatment during a pandemic. You would just pack them all in, 10 to a room if necessary, to avoid looking "heartless."
