As far as acting chops,Frankie Boy was not too attune.
He did deserve his Oscar for - From Here to Etenrity - but other than that
his movies lacked character. He had pretty good character in the gloomy
role of Heroin addict drummer in - The Man with the Golden Arm - {1955} which was
a pretty good movie. A dark { quite literally } Otto Preminger flick with notable
performance by Eleanor Parker { one of my favorite actress } and a very slick
role as card shark/drug dealer Darren McGavin of - Mike Hammer - {1958 }.
Frankie Boy was more interested in his Detective Movie career to prove
    how tough he was.Gimme a break. The guy was a short { 5'7" } 40's heartthrob.
He thought he was tough. He took advantage of his street punk and thug early
beginnings { a kid from Hoboken,N.J. } all of that strangely disappeared when he
became a teen idol { to bobbysockers }. I never understood his charm.
Nor his older insistence on playing a tough guy.
However the guy could probably whip the right noodle.
Hmm ... Ernest Borgnine was Italian, also, right.

The man could sing and he was ageless when he sang.

Caruso could sing also. However when was the last time you heard his
name mentioned.I'm so sick of this Frankie Boy idolatry.
Sirius XM Radio actually has a Sinatra station.
I prefer Dean Martin over Sinatra any day.Perry Como, also.
This Sinatra bidness is way overblown.
Same with this Tony Bennett crapola.
    It's an Italian thing.They can't get over themselves.Like in - The Soprano's - or
    - Jersey Shore -.
    Italians are VERY Clique minded.

There really is nothing like a fig that is perfectly ripened, that just came off the tree and is still warm from the sun.

    Ah .... Patooey.That's fig talk.
The same could be said by Woody the Woodpecker after a good
hammering on a thick Oak tree.

The brave "science" investigators were certainly not in their safe space, but, OTH, no risk - no warp drive. ;-)

Those guys are idiots! Firstly, you don't build something like this in your house. And you DON'T drive around with it in the back of your car! Can you imagine having that torch off while driving down the freeway? They are lucky they didn't get arrested. I think what they did is a federal crime. They built a bomb.

I think that was done in Russia.
I was seriously surprised at the flame that created. Like a large torch effect. I thought it would be a lower sparkler type show, but in a major volume way. With their car being so close as it was, I wonder if they actually thought that was going to be as large a fire as it was.

Im going to channel Flounder now.
    Ready?

I picture Flounder all Bobby Darin like playing those places in upstate NY. Those places were a big deal at the time. He had to be really good to play there.

I miss Flounder too. He shared so much of his life, he wasn't selfish with his wisdom or memories. We were on another forum together, when it closed down we came here, some of the group stayed and some went elsewhere. Flounder never changed he was always the same.

Happy New Years everyone :). I know I haven't been here often, but surprisingly I'll be here more often. Politics is as tiring as it is combative, and I've been at it for the last 9 months now. Even the fiercest warriors need a retreat.

It's been a bruising political year, and yeah, it gets tiring. No politics allowed in this room. Miss Smartie threatened to bash me over the head when I was new to PF and I said something political in the bar. I wouldn't mess with her, man. :hiding:

She makes lots of great coffees in the morning and drinks in the evening though. :worship:

    Cheers!

New Years... that means W-2's, 1099's, tax filings, changing out files....

For Christmas, one of my co workers (file to large, won't upload, dang it!) gave me a Yeti type cup that says...

    This might be vodka.

    How I wish......
