"No country for old men" you must like the movie. I remember the name Llewelyn Moss from the movie.

    Im trying to understand.

Are you suggesting wife beaters are oppressed because they didn't fully develop the coping mechanism to rise above the out of control temper to a point they can practice self control and should be shown mercy?

To me having the coping mechanism to practice self control isn't a privilege and being strong minded isn't a luxury. Both are willful necessities in life. Perhaps some people don't need to willfully put aside a hot temper because they just don't get that hot. Its not at a sizzling hot level. They never get there. If you have a sizzling hot temper and recognize that, its up to you understand it impacts more than you and not in positive ways. Selfish and selfcentered in an extraordinary way enters the picture. Because the damage from a selfish selfcentered out of control hot temper can and does impact more than just the hot head. It seriously impact others. Whether that is in words or deeds.

You wanna go down that road for lack of control or you don't care enough to stop, you own it. Its willful.

You don't like macaroni. You don't eat it.
You don't like losing your temper. You control it.
    Its not that complicated.
    At least that's my opinion.

This is so true. When abuse enters the picture it is because there is a lack of respect for the abused. Mistakes can be made but abuse is on purpose it isn't a mistake. You raise your hand to strike anyone except in self-defense it is abuse. Raise your hand and strike someone in our state look for yourself standing before a judge, you probably wont like the ending to the story.

I raise my hand a lot, but just to point, poke toward, emphasize, gesture, flail, and so forth, all with COMPLETE CONTROL!

Its that and I also think it comes down to self esteem. If you can rage to the point of putting your hands on someone, for some reason you either made a conscious decision to put your self esteem in the gutter for a moment or you actually believe beating the hell out of someone because you are in a rage bolsters your self esteem. Either way, probably a stop and think about it moment.

    Who knows.

I don't know how we got on this topic.
I think it best to adhere to Egbert Souse' philosophy.

Just make sure you don't accidently hit someone, especially if they have differing views.

Llewelyn was played by Josh Brolin. His subsequent movie Sicario about a female FBI agent named Sicario was better.

In "No Country ..." Brolin played a local yokel who was in over his head with the Mexican dope cartels. Good movie, just very sad. Tommy Lee Jones played the sheriff who was burnt out.

I liked the movie, Javier Bardem the actor who played Chigurh, was scary. He was so bad he gave badness a new meaning. You had to wonder what ever happened to him after the wreck.

After the wreck he would have had to go back to Mexico for medical care. Then his murderous crime spree would likely have continued. This is the closest that Hollywood comes to an unhappy ending as in the classic Greek tragedy.

In Greek tragedy the good guys lose because the world is so evil.

That's what No Country was. All the good guys were killed.

    I remember the coin toss.

It is a common trick used by terrorists with hostages.
