I didn't support Trump in the primaries either (I live in a state where Independents can't vote in the primaries anyhow, but I favored Rubio) but I think Trump was better than the alternative, and I like some of his ideas, and I'm certainly willing to give him a chance instead of just ranting and pouting for the next four years because my favorite didn't win.

To the Trump haters, anyone who doesn't also hate Trump is an ignorant sycophantic "Trump lover", apparently. I actually think it's an attempt at discounting the opinions of everyone who disagrees with them -- sort of like how anyone who criticized Obama was written off as a racist, anyone who supports Trump is being written off as a "Trump lover". As if putting a little label on an opposing viewpoint makes it disappear.

Tres B. must be upset because I threatened to put her on ignore the other day if she didn't cut the crap. I didn't realize she was still trying to talk to me on here though -- not sure if that's funny or weird

 

Okay, so find someone who wants to talk about Griffin. I don't. Please. I never heard of her before the "incident" and don't have any interest in turning her 15 minutes of fame into a year. She's a nobody. An offensive nobody.

I'll anxiously look for all of your posts to the people who show me vitriol because I'm a conservative who left the reservation and didn't support the candidacy of the liberal named Trump. They exist. All over the place. Of course, they enjoy taking the weak route "You're a Democrat!" or "You're a liberal!" but that's because they don't understand life beyond "He isn't Hillary".

Putting someone on SCOTUS was a given, my friend. There was a vacancy for months, and the next duly elected President was going to get to put someone on there.

If beating Hillary was to you a "promise kept", hey, that's fine with me.

I'll wait to see if he delivers on the promises he made that aren't one, a given, and two, made possible by other people.

 

I guess time will tell on this one if it all comes to fruition. But I think it will take even more than that. They need to do a better job of punishing people who knowingly hire illegals, among other things.

I am way off topic here now. My bad. Back to Scalise. Last updates I saw were that he was improving. I hope he is up and around quickly.

I supported Rand Paul at first and wound up supporting a couple of other candidates whose names I don't care to mention. Trump clobbered every single one of them.

But being a card-carrying Republican and a team player I set my differences with him aside after the primaries and voted for him in the general election. Paul Ryan made a point at the RNC that stuck with me and it was a valid one: we may not get everything we want with Trump, but if Clinton wins we won't get anything we want.

Well put - that makes perfect sense. The funny part is that many of those people were probably Obama lovers who project their own willingness to worship politicians on to others.

I'm not getting in the middle of that...

Trump didn't actually clobber anyone. He didn't get the majority of votes in the Republican primaries. He got a plurality. That isn't a clobbering.

And not all "Trump haters" (oh, the drama!) were "Obama lovers". Many people who oppose Trump (leaving aside the weepy use of "haters") don't approve of lifelong liberals who are crass, dishonest, and unqualified. I know that is really hard for some people to comprehend. You guys remind me of the liberals who hate the black people who don't vote for Democrats. Thinking outside the box is hard to so many people.
