I say that because this person took a hostage in a Walmart, so I’d be genuinely surprised if she actually bought that gun. Hopefully the police update the case and we get a full back story including the origin of the weapon. Fortunately for everyone involved this ended well.

I did not see it on the news last night. Maybe we have some questions we’d like answered, like how this all got started. Or would you rather get fussy over how little or how much coverage this incident caught, which is exactly the amount of value I’d expect from your post.

 

Ehhh, not so sure about that, because a lot of these mass shootings and related incidents have folks legitimately buying those weapons so that's totally within the realm of possibility.

That's true. Those people (at least the recent ones) have a history of violence and have made threats, and clearly intended to take out as many targets as possible before dying by suicide or cop. This particular Rhode Scholar just brought one gun and took what appears to be a random walmart employee hostage. This looks like more of an impulse control issue, with a side of angry and stupid. Maybe she did, if I had to wager I'd pick stolen/borrowed.

No idea how the young lady working at Walmart felt about guns before this incident but I’d bet good money she is pro 2nd amendment now regardless.
