I've heard this argument before, don't you think the Democrats will demand that we change the age requirement?

I believe she meets the requirement. She'd be 35 on inauguration day, but that wasn't really my point. She's just too young.

I haven't heard about plans to lower the age requirement. Myself, I think it should be raised. I'd be fine with 50. Then again, the two youngest presidents, Teddy R. and JFK, did pretty well.

And a big TV and expensive sneakers and other undocumented shopping. The sofa, too, if you have friends to help liberate it.

She may be too young on the day she is nominated, but is that reason to disqualify her if in fact she would be 35 on the day she would supposedly take that oath. I smell a Gore-sized Court challenge coming next Presidential cycle.

Yup!!! In defies sanity to nominate a candidate that is cognitively challenged yet they did it with Biden and will with AOC. They will fight tooth and nail to get her on the ballot.

    Loud buzzer on that.

The minimum age for the president is 35. In 2024, AOC will still be short of that by a year.

    Sorry, epic fail.

She'll be 35 three weeks before the election.

Uh oh ... I failed the math test again! :cynic:

I'm still not worried about her becoming president in 2024, though. If Biden wins, he's unlikely to seek a second term. One term is all he really needs to undo a lot of Trump's damage. I'm guessing that whoever he chooses as his running mate will succeed him, which makes his choice extremely important and I wish he would stop torturing us all and name her already.

That's of course what is happening. I have no idea why anyone would suggest AOC running in 2024.

    I'd vote for a 2005 progressive.

    2020 progressives are nuts.

I really do not have the patience for such an idiot. The American people have had their fill of liberal progressives and are ready to out right reject them.

I've got a 20 on Biden being 25thed within a year, if elected. If not elected, the pool goes to an office lunch.
Voluntary/involuntary is not a factor. His VP is what will make or break his election. Harris is a little more acceptable then Abrams.

Third party is going to see a bit more activity this year, IMO.

“The world is going to end in 12 years if we don't address climate change.”

That statement should end any serious consideration of AOC.

    Totally WRONG.

    Give me a break.:bored:

AOC doesn't have a prayer at the Dem. Nom. in '24.

If Biden chose not to run, Biden's VP would be a LOCK for the Nomination.

AOC won't be in the mix until 2032 (at the earliest).

Anybody who thinks that AOC is being groomed for 2024 is Egregiously Misinformed.

    AOC in '24?:roflol:

AOC has a long political career ahead of her

Presidency in 2024 is probably not on that horizon.

    we’ll see

Sigh. As a retiree, one of the things I miss is office pools.

What makes Harris more acceptable than Abrams? Personally, I prefer Abrams. She not only reads books, she writes them. I like a woman with both intelligence and imagination.

An extremist will not blend well with a moderate, and the groups who would support Abrams, are not strong in numbers.

I read books. That doesn't qualify me for the VP position. The books she writes are romantic suspense. That might appeal to Joe, lol.

Abrams is not an extremist. Where do you get that?

It doesn't matter what genre she writes in, what matters is that her writing has been successful, meaning it's probably good writing, which means she's smart and works hard. Have you ever written a book? Do you think you could?

My mentioning books is because that's something Trump won't do ... read. It wasn't really about VP qualifications so much as it's about a general level of intelligence and competence, something we don't have in Washington right now.

Extreme as in too far left in my opinion, then. Her commentary on several current topics is not what I would want to hear (in flavor) from any politician.

We will have to disagree as to what is good writing, then. I do a lot of reading, and writing. I have never published a book, but my manuscripts are shared among friends and family.

So what if Trump reads books or not, many people don't. That doesn't mean they aren't intelligent. If reading were the only barometer for intelligence, there are a lot of people in high positions, who would be classified as 'not intelligent'.
