I made a prediction, not a judgment regarding the outcome. My prediction is not about wish fulfillment, like the Paul supporter's preictions are. It's simply what I think the data suggests.
Comment on that, if you can.

I'll comment as appropriate, which I did.

    That's great.
It just doesn't address my post.
    Have a blast. Enjoy.

    Oh, it does.
Though you may consider yourself fairly clever, you're not.
Just another status quo statist, routing for a two statist ballot in november.

You fail to see the next trend in the political mainstream. After 40 years of quiet and steady libertarianism, it's becoming mainstream.
It's no longer fringe to believe in the Constitution, Liberty and fiscal conservatism.
This school of though is SO fundamentally American and it's exploding onto the scene and the consciousness of Americans. Ron Paul leads the movement.

    Remember I said this.

It has nothing to do with rooting.
It's simply a prediction. It's what I think will happen, and why.
What do you think, and why?

I think the folks worried about defeating Obama, and Paul throwing an Obama/Romney general election to Obama might as well give in and vote for Paul now. Otherwise, they can kiss the election goodbye.

Do you actually think Paul is going to win?
    All kidding aside, do you?

I think the repubs will lose if Paul is not the nominee. They should get behind him now or admit that they are closet Obama supporters and big government statists.

    That wasn't my question.

Do you actually think he'll win?

TO jump in....I don't think he will win.

But I REALLY hope he will.

But it is very encouraging that people are finally getting what he is saying. And most of them are young...which bodes well for America's future.

Unfortunately, who will carry the torch after Ron Paul retires?

    His son, I guess.

If a mere 4000 voters had flipped to him and he had one Iowa, he would have had a fairly decent shot. As it is, I'm sorry to say it's highly unlikely. But miracles happen. If enough anti-Romney voters were to realize that Paul is the only non-Romney candidate with any viability whatsoever and the only non-Romney candidate who would have a good chance of beating Obama and coalesced around him, he could pull it off. 90 to 1 they're not that smart, but hope spring eternal.

I think RP can win. It really depends on how things play out. Right now,the GOP conservatives are planning meetings to see if they can coalesce around one candidate to be the not-Romney. The thing is, they are looking at either Perry, Santorum, or Gingrich and are not mentioning RP.

That's really silly because RP is the only one other than Romney that does against Obama well according to the polls. Also, he's the only one with a national organization that can go the distance. Santorum has no ground game and has missed getting on the ballot in several states. Gingrich is much the same and also has too much baggage. Perry has the money, but not the support. Yet the Conservatives ignore the one man that came in 2nd in NH, and 3rd in Iowa and whose support base is growing.

Go figure. Unless they get behind RP, 2012 will be a repeat of 2008. Time is running short because if Romney takes S. Carolina, the perception that he is going to be the nominee will be cemented. Look for an interesting lead-up to the primary. There will be 3 debates before then (I think) so anything can happen between now and January 21.

he has a chance, and you really want Romney as the opponent to Obama.
Two corporatist tools, vying for the hearts of america, and you have sided with one of them.

    Wins 0
    Losses 2

Many more L's to follow as ALWAYS when the ever present candidate Paul lets his ego run for president again and again, for no good reason.

Was that a 'yes' or a 'no'?

Let me guess...you do not dare answer for fear of making your point look weaker.

    I understand.

Same thing, really. If you made up a candidate with all of the same policies as Obama and put an R next to his name, people like Jason would support him/her because of the "R".

The simple math, although evidently well beyond a Paulobot capability is Paul ZERO. Romney 2.

In S. Carolina Paul again will not win.

In Florida Paul again will not win.

On super Tuesday Paul and the Paulobots will be exposed as simpleton fools. Paul's ego may carry on after that beating, but his old, old body is going to tell him to stop.

That's reality. Put it down as my prediction, if it pleases, but it is simply acknowledging the reality of the day.

And he still cannot answer a simple question.

    Noted.

By chance, Paul occasionally comes up with quite rational ideas. I do hope that he, rather than Mr Romney, loses to your President: he may suggest that you don't have to be controlled by AIPAC, and a few useful ideas like that.
