I had my reservations about Grassley when he ran in the recent election, and yes, it’s time for Sanders to retire. We can hope that he’s done with presidential politics.

Yea, and what is he … 82 years old? It’s time to, at the very least, leave senatorial leadership to the next generation.

I have not seen media pay much attention to him, but then again, I'm not as much into media as you obviously are. Anything else you'd like to share?

I doubt that he will run again.

I doubt the DNC will allow him to run again.

I doubt the DNC will have much to say about it.

They didn't have a problem taking Sanders out of the last election.

McConnell is not a Democrat. I'm confident he takes DNC opposition for granted.

I didn't say anything about McConnell.

Then you are confused. You joined a discussion about McConnell.

You are confused. I responded to a post of yours claiming that the DNC couldn't stop Biden from running. I simply showed that they have done this before.

Scott is the polar opposite of Trump, which is a good thing. While both blame the other party for every ill in the world, Trump campaigns on revenge and more "us vs them" divisiveness, Scott talks about brighter future (like most politicians). I wish him luck, and he'll need it since he enjoys only 1% support in the GOP race. In the end his 'moral police' views (like nationwide abortion ban) would probably doom his chances.

We need someone who meets people in the middle, and I don't care if that person if Dem of Repub. So far that person has not yet emerged from either party,

Nope. You replied to my #229, which was about Mitch McConnell.

Sanders has never declared himself to be a Democrat. He has run for their presidential nomination twice, but after that, he has twice returned to the Senate as an Independent.

He sits with the Democrat Senate caucus, but he’s not an official member of the party.

Over a 2020 weekend Sanders, then the leader in the polls, abandoned his candidacy and was replaced by Biden for the nomination. If the DNC didn't do that then who did?

I see that Scott formally announced. So far in my opinion he's the best candidate in the race from any side. Still waiting to see if Chris Sununu and Glenn Youngkin will throw in.

On the Democrat side, I can't think of a single person other than maybe Manchin that I would even want to run at this point.

The Democrats need spankings until they realize the insanity of the woke progressive stuff is not good. Lets get back to being liberals, not lunatics.

Democrats are gender confused, if you can't get by that, America says no more.
