No, we should give guns to everybody and have a "Let's purge the criminals" day instead of just disarming the lawful citizens while leaving the criminals armed.
So what? Unless you're proposing a solution that's based on "Black people", it's a useless comparison.
Instead of circling the ideological wagons, you should be honest about it. Looking at the per capita rates of crime across the board, clearly the U.S.has a black crime problem.
Agreed, but mostly it's black-on-black murders. Homicide is the #1 cause of death for black males aged 15-34 at about half of all deaths. It's #3 for white males aged 13-24, but only about 8% of deaths (suicides are #2 and over 20% of deaths). https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u....f_vicitm_by_race_and_sex_of_offender_2013.xls https://www.cdc.gov/healthequity/lcod/index.htm https://www.cdc.gov/healthequity/lcod/men/2013/Blackmales2013.pdf https://www.cdc.gov/healthequity/lcod/men/2013/WhiteMen2013.pdf
Agreed again, and most of that crime is in the Big Blue Cities. Why do Liberals want to ban guns in rural Texas when the real problem is inside their own cities?
Disagreed. It's an inner-city gang problem. Solve your own problems and stay out of the business of innocent Americans.
as noted previously: https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u....f_vicitm_by_race_and_sex_of_offender_2013.xls Now tell me the reputation of the FBI is in tatters and can't be believed.
I am honest about it. 0.007% of Black people committed homicide in 2016. Regardless of any other data, that's enough to say that statistically it's insignificant. Any solutions I'd propose aren't merely to reduce the Black crime problem, but the crime problem, regardless of race. If Black people benefit the most, so be it.
They've actually released data up through 2016. https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2016/crime-in-the-u.s.-2016/topic-pages/expanded-offense
Agreed. Only a small percentage of people are criminals. Still, those criminals you are referencing are mostly related to inner city gang problems. What is your solution to that problem?
I've posted it here many times before, but here it is again: 1. Allow individual access to NICS so that private sales can utilize the background check process. Sen Coburn sponsored a bill that would be very effective for this. 2. Exempt CCW and LEO from background checks. 3. Arrest those who commit felonies while attempting to get guns. In 2010, 72,000 applicants were denied permission to purchase a firearm via the NICS and state systems. 34,000 of these were denied for previous felony convictions. Only 10 (10!) were convicted. We still have tens of thousands of people who committed a felony by lying on the Form 4473 and have a violent past free to find guns through illegal means. Given that a violent felon is looking for a gun, how many violent crimes could be prevented by arresting and incarcerating these felons? https://www.ncjrs.gov/pdffiles1/bjs/grants/239272.pdf 4. Focus on the gun dealers and sellers who sell large amounts of guns to ineligible buyers. If the Brady Campaign knows who they are, then ATF knows who the major sellers are. 5. Mandatory sentences for those who use guns in acts of criminal violence. Stop plea bargaining away gun crimes. http://chicagoreporter.com/thousand...-being-dismissed-cook-county-criminal-courts/ 6. Extend the legal possession geographies for CCW holders. 7. Go arrest the criminals who have guns illegally now - don't wait for them to commit a crime. 8. Fully prosecute and punish straw purchasers. http://www.omaha.com/news/crime/pol...cle_dcd60ace-8716-5651-9125-cb297998694e.html
While I tend to agree with everything you wrote: 1) That's not going to solve the BBC gang problem. 2) Almost everything you mentioned is already against the law. It's not the fault of innocent gun owners, the NRA or the Republicans that Big Blue Cities refuse to prosecute or take plea deals because they're too busy locking up people for drugs or other crimes.
