Correct. In fact, they had problems keeping the Supreme Court filled because each justice was assigned part of the nation and had to hear cases in that jurisdiction and it wasn't fun traveling non-stop.

So while some things have changed with the times, the founders also argued why the president should have the power on universal things which Don't change over time. If you study the Constitution in depth it's really a horribly written, unclear mess but the founders were not so much worried about what it said but laying down a system that could check itself and that's what they ultimately did.

As for agreeing on it well that never happened. In fact, in Marbury v. Madison you had lawyers on both sides, who were Founders, saying they meant different things when they wrote the damned thing. Back then there was no such thing as intent because you could simply ask them which proved pointless since they all said different things. That is one of the less noticed part of Marshall's ruling, that since intent could never be verified that some entity has to be the final word. He essentially told the founders to shut up and go away lol.

And Democrats failed to end either if them and did much to guarantee they couldn't be ended anytime soon.

Who cares if there are hundreds of sites? Only one counts: the bill itself. Quote it from the bill or admit that you made it up.

Actually, I don't think you made it up. You're just repeating it from wingnut websites who can't quote it from the bill either.

As to thread title, that the warhawks are in charge, the AUMF has given the military industrial complex everything it wanted. A complicit POTUS and no legal restraints whatsoever to perpetual war. That is the ultimate dream of war profiteers.

Nothing in objective reality substantiates your claim. Nothing. He never gave such an order. So I can't help wondering how you came to believe he did.

Technically there is a preferred scenario for every business.

People who make stuff for war profit when there is a war.

I'm not sure why people have a problem with this.

Most people understand the logic and dynamics of war profiteering.

The thorn is that being in a state of perpetual war is problematical for society.

No it isn't it's called militarism and there have been a few societies that made it work, particularly Sparta and Prussia.

It was Jimmy Carter who remains responsible about half our troubles in the Middle East. It was under his presidency that Iran moved from US ally to enemy to the harm of the citizens of both countries.

LOL when has the Iranian army been at war with the US? The problems in the Middle East involve three sides, the US Israel and Saudi Arabia, and the country you decided to destroy, Iraq

What was Rand lying about ? Normally it is Paul telling the Truth and the establishment who is lying - with respect to war.

He said all the election fraud lawsuits have been dismissed because of standing. Basically, the exact same line we see here from Trump apologists. Nobody is allowing evidence to be heard, and other such nonsense.

His father is honest. He isn't.

That has nothing to do with this issue. It logical fallacy to claim "OH" some Politician told a fib (not that you have substantiated your claim that Paul "lying" - but suppose you had) and so everything he/she says is lie.

What is ridiculous is the implied premise that there are politicians out there who do not stretch the truth from time to time.

I find your position absurd "Paul told a fib about election fraud lawsuits - so he is lying about foreign policy"

Part of this post is right not the money but, other parts are wonky.

Cheney, Rumsfeld, Bolton are freaken Goblins .. but so was Obama .. and wasn't that Joe Biden fellow high up in that administration ? - help me with my memory here.

That Obama Administration got us involved in 3 new wars .. one of which (Yemen) we are being investigated for complicity on war crimes - and Syria was 10 x worse than that - and we have yet to face the music over that one ..as the Obama Admin was not only guilty of complicity - but defacto responsibility for the massive atrocities, genocide, War Crimes - and Crimes against humanity .. and you are trying to compare this to > "Well .. Well - Trump almost got us into a war"

I am one of Trump's biggest detractors - and have way better arguments against Trump than you do - the above not being one of them and in fact not even on the list because it is preposterous nonsense by comparison to "Joe Biden's Record"

Blue is now the New Neocon in any case .. not even paying lip service to "anti war" these day - and demonizing those that do.

As bad at it is - this was not the straw that broke this camel's back - not even number two off the top of my head - and in fact its probably much lower than that on the list of issues with Blue these days.

No it doesn't - as your bar for credibility is steeped in generalization logical fallacy - to the point where almost nothing is credible to you.

For example - Name a Politician in Congress who has never stretched the truth, engaged in false narrative, deceptive language or lied.
Name a news source .. and so on.

You have basically negated credibility - as for you it almost never exists - by the standards you have put forward.

This is one of the problems with the kind of logical fallacy that you have engaged in.

You're gonna need more than "but Obama" to put Biden in the same camp as Cheney. Hell, you're falling short of putting Obama himself in the same category. I'm not buying it. I see nothing from Biden that suggests any war in our near future.

So, since everybody is human and lies, we, as humans, are incapable of judging people's credibility? Sounds like a denial wrapped in rationalization.

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough took aim at Kentucky Senator Rand Paul’s performance at a Senate hearing that promoted false claims about election fraud.

On Thursday morning’s edition of Morning Joe, Scarborough punctuated a segment about Wednesday’s Senate Homeland Security hearing on election “irregularities” by absolutely torching Paul for spreading “lies” about the election even though he knows they are false and the consequences of those lies.

“Hello, Rand Paul! Why are you lying to the American people? Why are you purposely inspiring people like the Proud Boys to go around and yell ‘Stop the Steal!’ and beating the hell out of people in the streets?” Scarborough said, his voice rising.

“Rand, why are you doing that? What, see I don’t get it, what’s in it for you, Rand?” an apoplectic Scarborough continued. “To be a liar. To your people. To your constituents! Why do you want to spread violence across America by spreading this lie? Why do you want to undermine American democracy? Why do you want to undermine faith in our system, Rand?”

“Because I’ve got to say, I don’t get it. Because you know it’s a lie!” Scarborough said. “You know there’s no widespread voter fraud, and yet you keep stirring the lie up! So I’m just curious, what’s in it for you? Is this a 90-10 issue in Kentucky? No, I think people in Kentucky like American democracy. So who are you playing to? Who is this for? Donald Trump, he’s leaving the White House in a couple of weeks. You can’t go golfing with him anymore.”
