Real-estate tycoon Donald Trump took a mocking jab at Macy's on Thursday, a day after the department-store giant announced plans to eliminate thousands of jobs.
According to The New York Times, Macy's said it would eliminate 4,500 jobs, or 3% of its workforce, after disappointing holiday-season sales.

Trump, the Republican presidential front-runner, declared on Twitter that the company's cratering stock was "another win for Trump!"

He also repeated a call for his supporters to boycott the "very disloyal" department store.

And this is the message from the person who want's to be President who claims he wants to create new jobs??? If American's don't see through his facade now, they never will.:steamed:

Yesirree, nothing says American patriotism like cheering when someone gets into financial difficulty!!

What it does is to make Trump look like a vindictive sonofagun, which he is, anyway.

I could really swear that Trump is trying his hardest to lose, and big at that...

I don't think that's it as he's also harming his business interests and I don't think he'd want to do that. He's pathologically egocentric and will continue to take increasingly controversial positions to remain in the limelight. For someone like Trump the 'look at me' moments cannot stop.

It's so bad I feel for the Republicans. They do have some good people and don't deserve the hit their reputation is taking.

Uhh Macys was the one that attacked trump first. Now they are tanking. Seems to me if stores want to keep selling clothes and perfume its best to not throw their hats into the political ring and (*)(*)(*)(*) off 50% of their customer base. They tried attacking trump because they thought it would increase their business by making them appear PC, in reality they made a huge mistake, people are sick and I mean sick and tired of the PC crowd. Macys cut ties with trump because he had the audacity to say the Mexicans running across our borders are bringing drugs, raping and murdering people. Trump was right (again), Macys was not.
Just proves trump has his finger on the pulse of the American public far more than any status quo politician on either side of the fence.

I'm not so sure I agree with your last statement. One side-effect of the trumpistic attention-whoring is that people are not really seeing how even more extreme Ted Cruz is. He would even be a worse president than Trump would be. There are only two in the entire cattle call of candidates whom I consider to be sane and would consider voting for. The rest? No way. So, I really am having a hard time feeling bad for Republicans, esp. after 7 years of their unrelenting hate, and bilious vitriol toward our current president. The GOP has made it's bed, now it must lie down in it.

If you could really swear that and he is winning, if it were me, I would wonder why what I could swear is actually the opposite of reality.

Trump might be crazy, but Cruz is probably more dangerous. I like Kasich although I'm seeing him move right lately to keep up with the pack.

Who are the two candidates you consider to be sane?

    Some reality for you.

    Yea....

But every time he says something that sounds dumb it turns out to be accurate:

Illegal immigrants are rapists, then we need having that story that made national news about some sanfran girl getting raped by an illegal.

Immigrants are terrorists, then we got than story about the two immigrants arrested for terrorist ties.

Macy's is a terrible store for ditching my fragrances, then this story

Trump getting kicked out of Ms Universe then the debacle with the announcement of the winner.

    It goes on and on.

He knows how to run businesses, you don't become massively rich by luck. It don't happen. People say he doesn't know enough about "the world" or politics, but we've had people with that knowledge, bush and Obama, and things havnt been exactly stellar in terms of American leadership during that time period.

Another thing was that people dissed Trump because Putin indicated he had some respect for him. That's absolutely rediculous.

I was actually supportive of him in light of the other options but when he says we should tax Chinese imports at a rate of 45% I just don't think he understands how economics works, that would be devastating to our economy, which is entirely dependent on consumption.

But I mean, are you really going to sit here and support another 8 years of Clinton. She was a disastrous Secretary of State. Our relationships with China and Russia have deteriorated. Then there is Benghazi and the emails.

Sure, the emails are probably much to do about nothing, but it's about JUDGEMENT. She should have known it was poor judgement to access these emails on her personal servers, she should have had better judgment, and better forsight.

Oh so Macys is really doing great then and them tanking is actually taking place in an alternate reality? Good to know. Unlike you, I don't rely on polls, they can be easily steered in any direction by anyone with a half hr of statistics knowledge. I base my comments on reality.
    Reality...
Leftist reality..Trump wont last two weeks...reality....he did
Leftist reality..Trump wont last till Thanksgiving...reality...he did
Leftist reality....Trump will tank by Christmas....reality....he did
Leftist reality back in June......Macys will punish Trump......reality they didn't, he punished them
Leftist reality.....ban Trump from the UK......reality......what idiots.

Online shopping has increased... not so much need for brick and mortar..

Macy's went thru this in FL after 9-11.

So online shopping increased after attacking Trump? Makes sense. I wouldn't be seen walking in the store either.

Macy's situation, like that of many retailers this year, has nothing to do with Trump. More people buying online, less foot traffic in bricks 'n mortar locations. Surprised you haven't heard about it.

For Trump to try to bask in the tragedy of thousands of people losing jobs is disgusting. How can you support someone who sent jobs (for his clothing) to Asia and Latin America and then gushes over the loss of American jobs? How can you support that?

Companies decide to tow the PC line then they face the consequences of their actions, thats the free market - the consumer votes with their feet.

Even less if you tick off 50% of your customers right? You should know youre a stats kinda guy. If foot traffic is a problem do you think its a good idea to potentially irritate 50% of your customer base or bad? As predicted back in June, Macys would pay a price and they did. Reality.

I find it funny that the same crowd that castigates CEO's for being overpaid are now complaining about comments that they would normally agree with if it were anyone but Trump. Hypocrisy. Macy's has been on a run of stock buybacks to inflate their numbers to insure executive compensation is satisfactory, at the expense of the Store and it's workers and now it is coming back to bite them. I saw this coming with all of the changes made and knew it was a losing proposition.
