In answer to the thread title. He's an accomplished Flim Flam man. He convinces people of an imaginary future with no foundation in reality. They want what he claims to offer even though there is no reality in which they'll actually get it. In the meantime he collects their adoration and more importantly, their money.

Exactly! If these people hadn't tried to exercise their right to seek asylum, this wouldn't have happened. Just like if some of these countries weren't dominated by drug cartels that threaten their lives unless they don't work for them. Or if WE didn't make the drug business so profitable by being the world's major consumer. Or if....

...there are so many "ifs", aren't there? But one thing is certain: NONE of them justify Trump ordering children to be tortured. And NONE of the "ifs" will ease your conscience if you still vote for the creep.

 

The 2000 children is tragic. But it pales in proportion to what is happening now. Those 2000 children mostly ended up in good homes. There is no such guarantee for the 85,000 which have disappeared. Many of those likely ended up in prostitution and slavery.

The problem is the border. We are encouraging people to try to come across the border illegally and many end up with tragic results. Biden could greatly reduce the problem with no help from congress. Congress, itself, needs to pass single purpose bills rather than multipurpose bills which provide reasons for not passing them.

 

Nothing a President can do is worse than torturing children. Please don't try to minimize it.

 

Not trying to minimize anything. I am just trying to make you realize that the current situation is causing more damage than that done to the 2000 children. And that, you just ignore because that would mean that Biden is not doing a great job.
