    That was worth a chuckle.

I tried to get you to care about the virus in Texas. Now you've got fridged trailers storing bodies. Maxxed out hospitals. The VA is taking Corona patients that aren't Vets, which only happens in an emergency.

You didn't try to get me to do anything. I've been wearing a mask and social distancing. Volunteering is different from having the government's boot on your neck to comply.

Plus, Texas ordered fridge trucks as a precaution in case we ran out of hospital capacity. We haven't.

Yeah, 2 wheels are great, motor or no..

I hope you're right. It looks like a super duper spreader event, but I'd love to be wrong.

I have no idea. Apparently, that's the rumor. Do you really think there are not buses moving Antifa to Sturgis? They love themselves some good fights with those "fascist" Trump supporters. This is a golden opportunity for the hoodlums and vandals.

Not to worry. Apparently Trump has decided to embrace leftist standards for huge and physically vigorous crowds regarding social distancing and mask wearing:

But he has requested that the similarities end where Molotov Cocktail tossing begins with the cities burning radicals of the political Left. Trump considers that radical leftist tradition . . . tacky.

"A coronavirus patient in Anahuac was flown by helicopter to a hospital in El Campo — 120 miles away — because closer facilities could not take him.

Ambulances are waiting up to 10 hours to deliver patients to packed Hidalgo County emergency rooms.

And short-staffed hospitals in Midland and Odessa have had to turn away ailing COVID-19 patients from rural West Texas facilities that can’t offer the care they need.

As the tally of coronavirus infections climbs higher each day, Texas hospitals are taking extraordinary steps to make space for a surge of patients. Some facilities in South Texas say they are dangerously close to filling up, while hospitals elsewhere are taking precautionary measures to keep their numbers manageable.

Doctors warn of shortages of an antiviral drug that shows promise for treating COVID-19 patients. And epidemiologists say the state’s hospitals may be in for a longer, harder ride than places like New York"

It's silly, and that's the polite version.

Save it for a thread that's not off topic. We are sending people to hospitals out of the area of residence. We have to offer medical to all the Mexican nationals who show up at the Texas-Mexico border for help, so the border towns are swamped. There's space for them in San Antonio.

That's the integrity of many on the left. Take a stand for whatever is convenient in the moment. Say something contradictory in the next few minutes.

    Hardly.

My posts have laid out my thoughts. I hate the ideologically based screwing over of science. Everyone should have done what we did.

But if you're not going to follow the rules, party hearty.

Tell you a little secret, you can't maintain an emotion. You run out of steam. The horror is gone, used up. If you want to live hard and leave a mouldy memory, what the hell. Might as well celebrate with them, at a safe distance, of course.

You sound like an old-school conservative. Be afraid of the world and don't venture out! There are crazy liberals out there living it up.

    Old-school
liberals used to be the risk takers. Now they're nannies and authoritarians, and/or living in a basement afraid of the world.

    Party's have flip-flopped.

Now it's Boomer and Gen-X Republicans who are for true liberty....

Same **** happens every year with the FLU and has been happening for years. You are going to have to accept the new normal at some point. They will be as successful at stopping this virus as they have been at stopping the FLU virus. It is moderately more lethal than the FLU. Think of it as thinning the herd of the sick and the elderly (baby boomers), the young and healthy (ie the people the economy is completely dependent on) are doing just fine.

No one wants to hear this, it's the worst kind of hypocrisy. You can only catch the rona at Trump rallies, church, the beach, Sturgis and mom and pop stores. Not Walmart and nationwide BLM riots.

It's quite a small rally. Normal attendance averages around 500,000 motorcycle enthusiasts for the last couple decades. 2015 was just over 739,000 which was close to rivaling the SD population.

SD always has a lot of tourists from ice out to the first snowfalls but the Sturgis Rally is just unbelievable.

Love SD from De Smet to Spearfish, from Yankton to Pollock.
