TWO YEAR OLD shoots both his parents with single shot.

    A TWO YEAR old got hold of a pistol left on a nightstand and with a single shot hit both of it's parents. The mother was shot in the leg and the father had a grazing head wound. Luckily an infant in a crib in the room was not hit. The two year old also had to be treated for injury related to the recoil when it fired the pistol. The local law enforcement in Maine is investigating the entire incident. Yet another instance of someone having a gun that should not be allowed within 50 feet of one, as they have no common sense.

    I think the numbers were almost 80%, if I remember correctly, of Americans who agree that there should be more stringent requirements to gun ownership. And that included a majority of Republicans. Only ones who oppose this are the NRA and the politicians in Congress that they have bought and paid for.

    Remember, we are supposed to keep the gun, ammunition, and firing pin in separate rooms so burglars have a fair chance to slaughter our entire family in the middle of the night before we can shoot them...

    Yes, I care about this incident. I just don't feel like going on the merry-go-round with 2As. If a classroom of Kindergartners (Sandy Hook) didn't budge them, nothing will.

    Everyone in the U.S. does have access to healthcare. It's just not free. Even if it was "free", it's still not free. Someone, somewhere is paying for it...

    The two year old could have done just as much, if not more, harm to his parents, attacking them with a knife, hammer, bat, or tire iron, but the left doesn't think those things deserve regulation! Typical baseless singling out of guns as different than cutlery, yard implements, and other typical home & garden tools.

    Take away the guns from criminals, guarantee me that I will never need a gun to protect myself and family from criminals, don't defund the police just in case I might need to call them for help, and then we can talk. All this anti gun talk only works in favor of the criminals who don't give a hoot about laws of any kind.

    That's not realistic. It takes about 5-10 minutes for the police to arrive at the scene of a crime. A bad guy can do quite a bit of damage in that window. And, as stated, bad guys don't care what the laws are.

    With that said, I believe we should have stricter gun laws without disarming responsible gun owners.

    guns do come with risks, I support people owning them, but leaving one on the nightstand loaded with children in the house is dumb

    course I bet these parents have learned this lesson now

    I have never owned a gun in my life, never plan too, but even I know this was dumb of them to do

    I can't do that, can only say there is risks to owning a gun and to not owning one

    people get this either or attitude, but it's really risks either way, and for each to decide

    I've been thinking about this and I wonder if something else happened. A gun is heavy and it's not easy to pull the trigger. Maybe it went down differently and they blamed the toddler so nobody got arrested. Still pretty dumb. They might lose their kids over this.

    burglars do not seem to be as much danger to this family as their own toddlers are. can you possibly keep the kids from shooting each other without leaving yourself defenseless?
