    Plus

"In February 1984, Nissan under the leadership of Takashi Ishihara, President of Nissan from 1977 to 1985 and the Government signed an agreement to build a car plant in the UK. The following month, a 799-acre (3.23 km2) greenfield site in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, was chosen. As an incentive, the land was offered to Nissan at agricultural prices; around £1,800 per acre."

True, but if there was no conditions in the contract, they can now sell that land at a huge profit as it will be considered brown field land and buy much cheaper land in Poland. Brown field land is worth about 25 times more than agricultural land. The current price is about £100,000 per acre valuing the land at £80m

I did not know until just now that nearly half of Nissan is owned by Renault which makes it even more likely that the Sunderland Nissan site could relocate, especially as Europe is the bigger market for Nissan cars than the UK. I cannot see any reason for Renault-Nissan to show any loyalty to Sunderland unless the EU disintegrates..

Well done, we are nearly there & this petition is legitimate, unlike the fraudulent "boo hoo lets have a second referendum" petition, that the bitter (anti-democractic) loosers are prompting to get brexit over turned.

Nissan made it expressly clear prior to the referendum that it would be staying here either way.

Nissan cars being sold on the continent are currently 10% cheaper than a week ago.
Nissan is laughing all the way to the bank.

That's a great idea. Why don't we let the pound drop another 50% and see what happens. How could that go wrong!

Left-wing German politician who was raped by migrants admits she LIED to police about her attackers’ nationality.

“Selin, aware of the backlash that migrants suffered after the events in Cologne on New Year’s Eve – when hundreds of women were sexually assaulted and robbed by marauding gangs of immigrant youths – instead said she was robbed and said her attackers spoke German.”

This doesn't make sense! If the left wing women did not want to to incite rascism than surely she would have said that the rapists was white. Yet she said it was a man of muslim origin which could incite racism.

The thing that you have to be careful about in Germany is that their are laws that make telling the truth an imprisonable offence. Strange to the ears of UK & USA people, but it is true.

For example... to claim that the Russinas were responsible for the Katyn forest massacre will put you in prison! And to say that the Turks were NOT responsible for the Armenian genocide will also put you in prison. Yet in Turkey to say the Turks were responsible for the Armenian genocide will put you in prison.

So there you have it two countries were you can be put in prision for saying two opposite statements.

Just goes to show that making laws over free speech changes your society from a free one into an unfree one.

I am glad I live in the UK where I can still just about say what I want. Although there are growing forces to-day that would have me put in prison for some statements that I may say about some historical events.

I hope the US keep hold of their rights for free speach, because you are now becoming one of very few Countries in the World where you are allowed to say the truth without fear of prosecution.... Stand up for that right !!!

Only later she finally told the truth. First she claimed she was robbed by Germans. Later she admitted she was raped by Muslims.

    Well stated!

I'm becoming more and more convinced that despite what a politician says, you can easily read their true position by examining their commitment to an individual right to keep and bear arms. You cannot be closet Totalitarian, Authoritarian or an Oligarch if you have deep commitment to the Citizen's right to keep and bear arms. That is why I was able to vote for Bernie in good conscience.

Julian Assange is still 'in prison' for making statements about some historical events? Hell hath no fury like MI5 and 6 exposed.

This left wing loon may feel she's being noble in taking one for the team but all it does it put other women at risk. All women should understand the dangers involved and avoid areas where there are groups of Muslim men,

The Bank of England has promised to reduce the value of the pound yet further today.
It's been trying real hard for 8 years now.

How it could go wrong, is if we were like Greece and Italy and Portugal and Spain and unable to do so.

The pound is down, good for some, bad for others.

No they didn't. They said that they will allow the banks to release some of their stored funds to lend out. They also said that they will have more QE. Both of these measures are in the hope of stimulating the economy at the risk on increasing inflation. Why would they have been trying really hard for 8 years if the UK has been climbing up the prosperity charts since the world recession? . A low pound is terrible for a country that imports more than it exports.

The value of the UK has dropped 20% since the referendum based on FT250 of 15670, $1.29/£1 now and FT250 of 17333, $1.48/£1 on 23 june

What I don't know about macroeconomics would make a weighty tome, but the pound being down is good for our exports apparently.

QE = reduce value of the pound. Print more money. Dilute the value of the supply.

And.. get 'em while they are cheap!

A low pound is terrible for a country that wishes to continue importing more than it exports, but ideal for a country seeking to change that.

Especially the highlighted is big time bad news. Keep in mind that still nothing really has changed. Neither Article 50 has been signed nor did the UK change the laws for EU companies. This was merely the first reaction by the market on a vote which had so far no real legal consequences.

Imagine the path Britain's economy is on. As you pointed out 20% drop since the referendum, but companies will start moving their production facilities out of the UK as fast as possible whether their British or not. Also we are expecting a hiring freeze especially in production and in companies who deal with the EU primarily.

I also don't see the EU getting to any beneficial agreement with the UK as soon as Article 50 is signed, because the EU has to scare off other members of following the UK's example. When it's all set and done, Britain may have lost over a third of its initial wealth.

Of the hundreds of thousands of Polish citizens living and working in the UK, she said: "I want and expect to be able to guarantee their rights in the UK.
"The only circumstances in which that would not be possible would be if the rights of British citizens living across the EU were not guaranteed."
The UK PM said she wanted to "make a success of Brexit" and would "seek to address the concerns of the British people about free movement" while working for a "close economic relationship with the EU".
"Of course there will be different interests and complex issues to resolve but I firmly believe that if we approach this in a constructive and positive spirit then we can pave the way for a calm and orderly departure,
"And in that context I want to be clear that Poles living in the UK continue to be welcome and we value the contribution they make to our country. We condemned the shameful and despicable attacks against Polish communities and others in the wake of the referendum result.
"Hate crime of any kind directed against any community, race or religion has absolutely no place in British society."

    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-36916836

May promised that she will guarantee their rights of hundreds of thousands of Polish citizens living and working in the UK, which means that EU migrants currently living in Britain will not be deported. Probably she'll only impose the immigration cap on future migrants from Eastern Europe to make sure that the UK will not be overcrowded by EU migrants.

    OP

Well we'll see how that works! The main thrust of the referendum was to vigorously control it!! If this government and the Brussels dogsbodies try any funny business between themselves there'll be rioting in the streets.

Jesus how much did the Remainers lie then? We're still waiting for Osborne's 'emergency budget' which Hammond says we don't need, the 'economic shock' hasn't happened, and 'Leaving will cost every family in the UK £4,300' according to the has-been Cameron, all of which you were praying to happen because you obviously hate this country! If you hate it so much then move back to where you came from. We don't want traitors here.

    Not so much.

I don't hate this country. I'm just not a xenophobic nutter.

All those things could still easily happen. We're still members of the EU.
