‘The war is coming home to Russia’: Ukraine turns the tables on Moscow as drone warfare intensifies

A sharp rise in drone attacks targeting Russian territory is likely to intensify, analysts say, with Kyiv appearing increasingly determined to bring the destruction, instability and unpredictability of war — albeit a fraction of what it is experiencing itself — home to Russia.

Russia has seen a sharp rise in unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs, carrying out assaults on western, central and southern Russian regions as well as the capital Moscow and Russian-occupied Crimea in recent weeks.

While Ukraine is continuing a counteroffensive on its own soil to regain Russian-occupied territory in the south and east of the country, and aiming to break Russia’s so-called land-bridge to occupied Crimea, the increasing use of drones to assault Russian soil shows another facet of Ukraine’s military strategy.

“The war is coming home to Russia,” Timothy Ash, emerging markets strategist at BlueBay Asset Management, said in emailed comments Wednesday.

    https://www.cnbc.com/2023/09/01/ukraine-turns-the-tables-on-moscow-as-drone-attacks-increase.html

Who knows what kind of propaganda is being fed to Russian citizens? But they may question it upon hearing Ukrainian drones flying overhead.

C'mon man. You hope Ukraine loses so it looks bad for countries giving it aid, like the US. Like Biden. You aren't fooling anyone.

When are these troops going to be committed? How many will be committed? Give us a specific time period and some numbers so that we can all judge if posts like this are driven by an understanding of the facts or a fanatical hatred of Democrats. The article claims 14 American SPECOPS soldiers may have been in Ukraine in March. A whole 14. Assuming this is even accurate they are likely training Ukranians. Not exactly going to stop Russia winning with those numbers.

So, give us your analysis of what is going to happen & when. It will be interesting to see if a person who thinks it is worth his time to go through article he quotes inserting phrases like 'bribed Biden' or 'dirty Bob' has anything of worth to offer.

Your perception that numbers matter, especially in this day and age, indicates you need to study military history. Good news is you won’t have to dig far to learn just how bad your perception is.

Are you discussing, or copy-pasting an opinion piece from a foreign tabloid because it agrees with your pro-russia views?

Supporting our allies is not as black and white as saying "the left" supports allies, and "the right" supports the enemy, because lot of people in the GOP support our allies, - its only the pseudo-conservative populists who do not.

Sad, but clearly true. Partisan politics before everything else, even the country

Your claim that I have "pro-russia views" is simply false. This is exactly why I wrote what I wrote, that, "the premises behind their positions is so divorced from reality that it makes it more and more difficult to discuss anything." It's just beyond obvious that Russia can outlast Ukraine in a war of attrition. But pointing out the bleedingly obvious is now considered "pro-russia."

So it does seem pointless to discuss anything with you since you are posting from a fantasy world with a fantasy set of premises.

Ah, another failed "Russia rules" topic that I'll need to bookmark to constantly remind of the failed predictions.

Indeed. Look at all the climate change deniers, anti vaxxers and apologists for trump's big lie that infest the forum.

Um right.... it took America two decades to lose a war against literal goat herders. If you are worried about Russia's image after less than two years, you should be terrified about America's image.

The war is a stalemate. Russia has secured the Russian populations in the 4 areas were they were being subjected to atrocities, and Russia will not be driven out. The only question now is whether Ukraine will run out of cannon fodder before the US runs out of dollars.

Really? The Taliban defeated Bribed Joe and they didn't even have an airforce until Bribed Joe left all the war helicopters when he bugged out.

Remember all the Happy Talk, Lies and Propaganda from Bribed Joe and his Ilk?

NATO Chief: West Should Brace For More 'Bad News' From Ukraine
    [IMG]
"One of the issues we should address is the fragmentation of the European defense industry."

'the counteroffensive has been widely acknowledged as a failure. "We should be prepared for bad news,"

Europe does not have an effective Defense Industry:

'"One of the issues we should address is the fragmentation of the European defense industry," he said. Countries have gone from being enthusiastic supporters and donors of Ukraine's cause to more lately sounding the alarm over dwindling or tapped defense stockpiles, as ammo production also can't keep up.'

Remember how the Left and the Neocon Warmongers shrieked with The Trumpster repeatedly rebuked them for free-loading off the US? Well, once again, Trump was completely right. Their free-loading puts them in a position of not being able to step up if they need to step up. They talked the happy talk on Ukraine and then sat back and expected the US taxpayer to carry the load.

'A week ago, a German official raised eyebrows by speculating that if Germany was forced to enter a major war its troops would only last "two days in battle" due to severe shortages of defense supplies and ammunition.'

Oh great, a nation that is supposed to be a major NATO ally can only fight for two days before they run out of supplies and ammo? This was Trump's precise point.

He told her firmly, and he urged her gently:

“Crucial German troop units can only last a maximum of two days in a battle due to these shortages. And that is a catastrophic finding overall,” Wadephul said. “Anyone who even talks about being ready for war, but expects the Bundeswehr to be at least ready to defend itself, should have ensured that such a bad situation does not occur. Unfortunately, the opposite is the case.”

Zelensky should have pursued peace, early on when they surprised the Russians and had them on their back foot. Now Russia has dug in, they have fortified their positions around the Russian populations in Ukraine that the Ukrainian Nazis were slaughtering and they aren't going anywhere.

    And interesting point Tipper.

I would guess the available population of Ukraine is currently down around 20 million, the much vaunted 'help' the US has
been sending evidently isn't making life much better.

But given the UAF is recruiting men from 17 to 70, that should be like 6 million.
Add in girls and women and maybe 12 million or a bit more.

Only about 1/2 million have been killed and a similar number incapacitated, so that
    still leaves 11 million plus.
