Heh, not drunk, but you're right; I wasn't paying attention. All of your posts in this thread have been about something that I didn't bring up, you did...so why are you asking me about them when they have nothing to do with the topic?

I am not asking you about them, although they are very much on topic. I asked you about something else, but I have long given up expecting answers from you.

Well you never ask anything that's on topic or makes sense, so that's probably the source of your disappointment.

The distinctions of human "race" isn't always a clear one. (This is an issue that occurs in any field of taxonomy)
"Middle Eastern" is not clearly the same race as "European", but neither is it clearly different. Perhaps it could be regarded as a "sub-race" category of "Caucasian".

"North African" should also get its own separate category.

I would approve of breaking it down into these categories, instead of just "Caucasian" that encompasses everything. (Maybe they could combine the "Middle Eastern" and/or "North African" into one single category)

I'm just skeptical of creating categories that have never existed before for political reasons.

I understand, but doesn't it just feel like common sense to create a separate category of "Middle Eastern or North African" apart from the "European" ancestry category?

Besides, the number of white people in the society's present day population is probably being significantly overcounted, if we're just assuming that all persons in the "Caucasian" category are "white" (like the term traditionally referred to in America).

Well my problem is that it's a category that includes people that have nothing in common with each other. A Tunisian Berber and Mizrahi Jews are all "MENA." The only purpose of moving them out of the white category is to create a new brown category that gets Affirmative Action, plus whatever oppression points you get from no longer being white.

    It's not a scientific category it's a political one.

Well, we could go in the complete reverse direction of that.

Just combine white people together with East Asians (and maybe Indians), and then lump all the other brown people together into a single "disadvantaged" category.
