still waiting for "proof" that Assad was manufacturing chems in those bombed buildings - also waiting for the fallout that was supposed to happen when they were bombed - and still waiting for a rationale as to why Assad would bomb unarmed civilians when he has defeated his armed enemies and killed off ISIS

right wing trolls don't have an answer for any of these questions ~ no surprise

As I'm not a right wing troll, I do have an answer for one of these questions.

Leaving aside the insignificant detail of ISIS not being killed off by Assad, and bearing in mind the very significant detail that the rebels were armed, the answer is obvious. Sending soldiers to fight in residential areas, with no guarantee of success, would have inflicted heavy losses on Assad's troops. The chemical attack avoided such complications.

In addition, Assad, upon learning of Trump's decision to withdraw from Syria, sought to add some insult to the US by demonstrating that he was still capable of doing exactly what he wanted to his people, and to highlight what he considered an ineffective policy against his regime. He was stunned, however, when he realized that his stunt resulted in the US not withdrawing as he has expected!

If we can ever get the Russian propagandists to reveal the truth, the proof you seek will then be forthcoming from a source that is acceptable to you!

It's obvious what would happen; but given your cavalier, 'tunnel-vision' response to Durandal in your post 901:

Perhaps....but I am comfortable with my position....and I do not yearn for a government that delivers this so-called "practical, working results" as there is little historical evidence for such success as it relates to the topic at hand!

and your failure to respond to many substantive points in my own posts, I must assume you are not interested in a genuine exploration of ideas.

Do what you must...but I hope you can understand that this conversation was going nowhere if you insisted on constantly misrepresenting my position!

That's ridiculous....the person on top can't be responsible for every errant action by subordinates who act against existing regulation and law. If that were true every president since Washington would be charged with a crime!

The case for or against WMD have nothing to do with an incident of American personnel acting outside the bounds of protocol!

Interesting....I've never heard the expression "innocent Iraqis" before....I'm sure Saddam would have gotten a giggle out of hearing that euphemism about his regime!

which President said "the buck stops here"
Saddam Hussein was held responsible, as was Mussolini, Qaddafi, Milosevic, Bashar al Assad etc...leaders need to held responsible for their actions if they're criminal... it didn't matter that subordinates carried out the genocide Milosevic was held responsible as the leader.

They were held responsible because they initiated the actions for which they suffered the consequences...it was policy for those thugs. What we're talking about here is the independent, unapproved violations of regulations committed by individuals without consent of their superiors. There is a difference!

It has been over a week now....still no words, scary or otherwise, from the perps in Moscow regarding the serious repercussions the free world would be subjected to from their recent attack on the war criminal, Assad. Has Putin thought better of the threat....maybe reconsidered his promised retribution?
