Female passenger wakes up and feels strange slime on her legs – then creepy-looking man next to her confirms her worst nightmare

A man allegedly molested a woman on board a flight from Dubai to New York City, using hand lotion to cover the woman’s body while she was asleep. The woman had brought the hand lotion on board the flight, but had then fallen asleep for several hours with the help of anti-anxiety medication.

She awoke to find the man sitting next to her asking “whether she had a good nap.”
According to NYPD-FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force Detective Christopher Caruso, that’s when the victim noticed hand lotion “spread on her arms, chest, and up her legs,” and that “the hand lotion she had placed in the pocket in front of her seat was missing.”
As she walked to the bathroom, the woman noticed that “her vaginal area was sore” and “saw that her underwear had been shifted and that lotion was in her vaginal area and on her underwear.”

The name of the alleged perpetrator in the criminal complaint is Nadeem Quraishi, aged 42, who is listed as a resident of Staten Island.

When confronted by a female flight attendant, the man allegedly told her the woman “enjoyed it.”

Here's a picture of the accused perpetrator, in the middle between his wife and daughter:

I wonder what his family thinks about this.

Not a good idea for a single woman travelling all by herself to take a powerful pharmaceutical that could leave herself vulnerable.

There's a reason they segregate women into separate travel compartments in the United Arab Emirates; it's for their own protection.

Some of you might be wondering how on earth a woman could be molested in the vagina without that waking her up, but I think you underestimate the potency of some of these anti-anxiety medications. These medications are designed to avoid the patient from feeling that there is anything wrong.
I'm sure the man was very "gentle" too.

Why isn’t it a good idea for a woman to sleep on a trip that is more than eight hours. That’s pretty sad that we blame women for that

I will never blame a Woman for what a Monster might do to her.
I learned a few hard lessons as a child, I wish I had been so warned.
It was too late for me.

Why do some women always seem to take pragmatic advice as blaming the women?

"to take a powerful pharmaceutical that could leave herself vulnerable."

You are blaming the woman for taking a powerful pharmaceutica same argument as why would she wear a short skirt and make herself vulnerable? I came back from Vietnam and took ambien as did many on the trip. If someone molested us you would ask why we made ourselves vulnerable...but you’re not blaming us

Are you asking why it's not a good idea to drug yourself into an unconscious stupor while surrounded by rapey strangers?

No, it's not the woman's fault she was assaulted. Yes, it is the woman's fault for putting herself into an unconscious, helpless state around strangers.

It's also a good idea to keep your eyes open while driving and not take a nap.

And your analogy is totally stupid. I don’t think the pilot should be able to take a nap. But I think someone sitting in the backseat of a car should be able to take a nap without fear of being violated
You’re lucky as a man you don’t have to worry if you want to take a sleeping pill for a 10 hour flight. You don’t have to worry about getting raped. But if the woman does it’s her fault for letting herself sleep. This is so fantastic for my course. It is an example of people who say they are not blaming the women while all they are doing is blaming the woman. It is her fault because she is making herself vulnerable .

It's ridiculous to think going to sleep makes you vulerable to being molested. At the same time, taking a powerful narcotic on a plane isn't a good idea. What if there was a crash or something. You couldn't take care of yourself. Or someone could take your purse and take your money and passport. I fly a lot and will doze off, but I'd wake up if someone reached over me and tried to touch me or take my purse or something. The whole plane is sleeping at night and no one would notice if someone did that.

I'm not saying at all that the woman is responsible for being molested. The man should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I am saying whoever you are, man or woman, unless you are locked up tight inside your own home, don't take a drug that's going to put you out so you don't wake up if someone assaults you or tries to steal from you. I travel a lot as a single woman and nothing has ever happened to me, knock wood; I keep my wits about me and am aware of my surroundings. That goes for men and women.

Ok, so you're right, it wasn't a great analogy.

Your example is no better though.

She wasn't "sleeping", she drugged herself into a state so out of it, she didn't even know some guy lubed up her entire body and played with it for hours.

Doing that in public is extremely stupid, no matter how you cut it.

I'm blaming the guy for what he did, he should be in jail.

If she had any sense, at all, he wouldn't have been able to do it though.

She's an idiot because she created the opportunity for him to do what he did, and he's a scumbag for doing it.

How come then or not afraid to take a drug that will put them asleep for hours on the plane? No woman should not be afraid to do that. When I take flights that are more than eight hours I do that. And I sure as hell don’t expect some guy to molest me and then someone saying it’s stupid to do. Yep she’s an idiot because she created the opportunity. No she is not an idiot

Anyone with two brain cells would never put themselves into a coma on public transportation.

Anyone who does is a moron.

Of course you wouldn't expect it, but you have just made it possible.

I got to tell all those people that go to sleep on airplanes to Japan. They’re morons they should just stay awake because there might be a predator. let’s blame the victim’s...they’re asking for it.” Hey lady be careful don’t close your eyes some guy over there will think you’re asking for by letting yourself be vulnerable” I also I’m getting a kick out of you creating this scenario that women are putting themselves in comas.

Japan is a far safer place than other parts of the world.
Very civilized people. I've read even in cases homeless people sneak inside apartments to eat out of the refrigerator, Japanese people aren't overly concerned about it. Just shows you the great gulf of difference between the America and Japan.

Did the man or the woman decide to incapacitate herself in public? She is not in the back seat of a car. She is on a very public airplane. We blame the man for the molesting. Does this mean if say the woman pulled off her pants and panties, she has no blame?

Oh I've made that flight quite a few times, and not once did I have to put myself into a coma to get through it.

She was NOT sleeping. People who are "sleeping" do not wake up covered in lotion with sore orifices.

I also don't recommend drinking yourself unconscious in public, getting into cars with strangers, and hitchhiking in Honduras.

All of these things are extremely stupid, and if you do them, you'll probably be a victim.

The Japanese grope the hell out of women on trains.

Of all the times I've been to Hiroshima, I've only ever seen one homeless guy, so I don't think it's a huge problem.

What the hell are you talking about? A woman going to sleep on a plane is not the same as a woman getting naked. You’re getting desperate and plain silly. If a man is sitting next you and he is sound asleep do you blame him for not being guarded.Tell you what when I take long flights and they close the lights for us to go to sleep I will take my chances. You should stay away because after all there might be some guy who is after your balls
