You do have plenty of people around here are old enough to remember Al Gore giving his doomsday predictions right?

But of course back then he was calling it global warming so when that failed to pan out as predicted they changed the name to climate change.

Not hoaxes and, like climate change, aren't anything to worry about. I haven't heard the word smog used in a very long time.

Of course our climate is changing. All you have to do is look back a million years. It started changing long before man was driving an SUV. Anyone who thinks man can change the climate of the planet earth is . . . well I won't say it. But they are in the same category with the people over the years who tell us the earth will end on a given day only to have that day pass and be forgotten.

Populists will say whatever they believe is popular at any given time.

Of course 100 yrs ago, people had no idea what was about to hit them.

Sort of an "I know you are but what am I" reply, lol. Your source was bad. It doesn't answer whether hurricanes are more common now or not, but it doesn't matter because it's obvious people's actions can affect the climate. Doesn't mean it's doomsday, but it's even more ridiculous to say humans cannot affect the climate.

    Mine was awesome, your's sucked.
    They aren't.
We're in an 8,000 year long cooling trend.

That's what the hard facts of science tell us, I'll leave the politicized cult claims to you. But I must caution you, the cult masters don't give a damn about the 'climate' they want control of the people, resources and financial streams.

Folks that actually give damn about the climate are focused on keeping actual toxins out of our air, groundwater, soil and oceans, like RFK is. Real environmentally committed folks also rejoice in the fact that the US has the cleanest air of any nation with a major economy, it's not even close.

No. They measured the rain water and it had an acid ph. Hoax it was not. Extreme hyperbole for political purpose it certainly was. I'm amazed how somebody says something and an entire nation accepts it and follows. Covid was the most recent example. Oddly they are trying to resurrect it and they are being successful. I even saw a government ad suggesting a return to the vaccine needle. I think it is shameful. I remember times when people thought for themselves.

Yep O correct predictions since the late 70's, The freaking farmers almanac a publishing that goes back more than a hundred years is a better predictor than modern climate alamists.

For some, not for others. People who do what government suggests they do when it makes no common sense are not thinking for themselves. There are millions of them.

And we are still waiting. So far I have yet to see any evidence that there is anything man can do to prevent the climate from changing.

    1. He is trying to get to Trump's base and become Trump VP when making these statements. Yes his climate statement is false, but MEGA Trumpers don't care. They just want to hear what they want to hear, and this is one of them.
    2. Vivik has been debunked or critized on pretty much everything he has stated when it comes to policy. But this goes to point #1 that I am referring to.

Isn't "climate change agenda" based on "climate change?"

If "Climate change agenda" is a hoax, how much you want to bet that those people think "climate change" is not real?

That is called hypothermia or heat stroke, take your pick. But you can get either of those by staying in the water in the Bearing Sea in Alaska, even in the summer, for a short period of time or in the Mohave desert, the Sahara desert, and elsewhere if you have no water or shade. But that does not mean that climate change is not real. Most people don't really understand what climate change is. Climate change has to do primarily with the ocean surface temperatures. And we see the results, which was predicted some 40 years ago, with the coral reefs in florida that are bleaching right now. The stream currents in the water are much warmer now than they have ever been in recorded history. And it is rising. This has an affect on air streams, which affects the weather, which is why hurricanes forming either in the Atlantic, Pacific or Gulf region are more dangerous now than ever before. We complicate things because we have a lot of people living on the coast despite all the precautions we have on buildings and such. But Texas's August 2023 was the hottest on record, surpassing the 1980 record temperatures.

there is a huge difference between natural and man-made climate change. It has to do with the molecules. Man made molecules from smoke and other things are much denser than a volcano eruption or even a 1000-volcano eruption. Hence the issue here.

You believe hypothermia and heat stroke are the only temperature related death metrics? LOL

Climate change is definitely real. Did I say something to make you believe otherwise?

The warming climate is decreasing temperature related all cause mortality. It’s very real. It should be celebrated.

Doomsday predictions, which I don't believe in, are to try to get people to notice a topic that most people in this country, and it is obvious from some of the responses, don't understand the science behind it. However, that does not mean that the science is not true.

Climate change is about the rising of the earth's ocean temperatures. We see this with the various ocean current streams as the temperatures rises, their currents shift. When ocean currents shift, so do the air currents shift, and when the air currents shift, we see more extremes in weather from longer and hotter droughts to less rain in the rainy months to colder winters as well, among other things. This has a direct impact on our environment and can cause hurricanes to form more quickly, become more deadly and tense, and so forth. We complicate things because we put a lot of people living on the shoreline despite all the precautions we take with buildings, storm surges, and so forth. And this has to do with molecules in the air, man made molecules that are far denser than natural molecules of the same type. That denser molecules that we make is what is driving climate change. And that is the science of it, in laymen's terms.

Although natural changes do occur, the time frame is over millions of years. Man-made changes occur over decades, if not sooner. And because of climate change, man's hunting, and so forth, we have eliminated about 1/3 of all species from this planet since 10,000 years ago, and we are still counting on that number ever increasing. If the water temperatures in Florida don't start to cool down soon, those bleached corals will die. That will directly impact small fish, which will impact the larger fish, which will impact the game fish, which will affect professional fisherman in Florida, especially the Keys Area.

I think you are trying to put two unrelated issues together but failing altogether. But hypothermia and heat stroke are very real and you did ask for what those are in the post I replied. I simply gave you the two most obvious examples and that anyone can die from it no matter if there is climate change or not. To put it bluntly DFW has had over two dozen heat stroke-related deaths and nearly 900 heat-related emergency visits in our summer, mostly because the elderly or poor did not have AC for a while with a heat index going towards 118F at times. and these temperatures are a cause of climate change much like the bleaching of the coral reefs in the keys in Florida, among other places.

Oh. So reading is hard for you. Try again. Here’s my question.

    Please respond to my question.

Sure people die because it’s too hot at times. But 10-17 times more die from temperatures below optimal for humans. Peer reviewed studies show decreasing net all cause temp related mortality as warming occurs. That’s a good thing.

Your problem is you’ve accepted too much opinions from journalists etc. and not paid any attention to science.

Please show how the molecular density of CO from eruptions vs fossil fuels differs in a meaningful way. Same for NOX, CO2, SO2, H2O etc.

I did respond to your question. That answer was hypothermia and heat stroke. But I also gave examples in which you proved my point that you are trying desperately to connect here with two unrelated issues.

That is why I gave hypothermia in the Bearing Sea. Even now, if a ship you were on sunk in the bearing sea, and you have that suit on, you have no more than 30 minutes to survive in the ocean by yourself. That is not a lot of time. But it also does not have to do with climate change. Same thing with heat stroke, depending on the facts and circumstances. But with DFW having temperatures in the triple digits and a heat index of 112F or higher with red flag days, I guess that did not fit into your myopic political agenda here. Heat stroke wherever it occurs has nothing to do with climate change, but temperatures do though, and can be affected by climate change, if you understand the science. But you don't and that is all there is to say here.

Do you think more people die globally from above optimal temps or below optimal temps? You can include hypothermia and heat stroke if you wish but both are statistically insignificant, especially heat stroke. Extreme heat kills far fewer than extreme cold. Far far fewer than moderate above optimal temps. And far far far fewer than below optimal temps.

In the US alone, twice as many die from extreme cold as extreme heat.

I have no agenda. Just trying to get science deniers like yourself to examine the actual science. And I’m not myopic. What is myopic and agenda driven is focusing on extreme heat when it’s responsible for less deaths than any other temperature bracket and peer reviewed studies show decreasing mortality with warming.
