Nonsense. The left does not seek compromise, it seeks acquiescence. In the specific context of guns, it is impossible for the left to compromise because they have nothing to offer in exchange for the restrictions they want to lay upon the law abiding.
When compromise becaomes impossible you get politicians going after everything because that is all they can do
The progressive's view of a gun free America at some point in the future has nothing to do with compromise. It's an agenda.
Compromise would not be a gun free america and MOST people who support gun control do not seek a gun free america.
The growing contingent of progressives in our government are trying to incrementally push for a gun free America in future generations. Eric Holder is on record as stating that we need to "brain wash" our children to believe that all gun are bad and we need to stigmatize them in an effort to rid future America of all guns. Face it, we have politicians that want to rid America of guns. They know it wont happen overnight and will likely take more than one generation.
Why do you ignore Decades of evidence ? 1939 NFA, 1968 GCA, 1986 ban on the manufacture of civilian transferable selectfire firearms ? The 1994 Clinton AWB ? The many attempts to Ban Handguns at every level ? Other Misc proposed Handgun bans ? Misc other Gun bans.
This is what happens when you respond to people who have no intention of carrying on an honest conversation.
The bans are not all inclusive, they are Bills to ban various Guns and alltogether end in a Total Ban on firearms.
Ubber white Seattle is the most racist city in the country. The purpose of the law is to find ways to imprison or disarm poor people, most notably poor black people. The white Democrat city council and Washington state endlessly pass laws to try to either keep out and run blacks out of their city and state - or put them in prison if they won't. From it's start, it has ALWAYS been a goal of the Democratic Party to disarm blacks. At first, it was laws that any black who merely touched a weapon was to be hung. Since the Democratic Party can't still lynch blacks, they want them in prison if they touch a gun.

It's a dishonest means of cloaking revenue collection in a package they think palatable to citizens. If it were placed in a general referendum and an open public debate I doubt it would pass.
