WAR ON THE STREETS OF PARIS: Armed migrants fight running battles in French capital

"Gun control" doesn't work. You shouldn't expect it to.

 

It's working in France, where the invaders only have boards and no guns.

 

It's ironic you say this, almost 1 year to the day after 130 were killed by shooters in Paris.

 

By terrorists. You don't get to claim that gun control "doesn't work" because of the occasional exception. It makes a difference where it's implemented effectively.

Now as to the OP, what you have there is the modern plague for France, it's our fault partly we need to take ownership of it. What needs to happen is peace made with Russia then Europe, the US and Russia stabilize Syria quickly after telling all those Arab countries what's going to happen... Then? Deport them all back to their countries of origin once peace is found and help Syria and Iraq rebuild. Expensive.. Yes but the alternative is far worse

 

France, which you claim has effective gun control, didn't stop terrorists from acquiring firearms and mowing down 130 people, and injuring hundreds more. Criminals, who didn't give a crap about gun control laws, still found a way. That's the concept. "Gun control" only stops the people who are legally able to acquire guns from owning them, and it leaves them defenseless against those who are not law abiding.

I bet you want an end to the war on drugs, too. The irony won't be visible to you.

 

A case like this gets a lot of attention, but it's a lot harder to show the positive. This "war on the streets of Paris" situation does highlight that, however. Again, these violent foreigners don't have guns. Gun control is working today. It works a lot, and it doesn't have to work 100% of the time to be a good thing with a net positive effect.

Kind of like seatbelts. They save more lives than they take. You can't say they don't work because of the occasional failure.

 

How many of those involved in "the war on the streets" used guns?

 

"Violent foreigners" have tons of guns, despite laws being there to prevent them from having them. Look at the myriad of Hispanic gangs in this country as just one example.

You can't claim it's a "net positive" because you have no way of knowing that. You never even bother to look at the other side of the equation, on how many lives are saved because of guns.

There are 300 million guns in this country, and the overwhelming majority are owned by the law-abiding white majority. Why are you trying to disarm them? They aren't causing any problems. Minority gang violence is the problem in this country. Remove that, and we would have a murder rate on par with France and any other white Western country you could name.

 

Uh, you don't want to look at *our* country as an example of gun control. We're sorely lacking it (and that's the way you like it). Remember?

Your lack of response on my point about minority gangs is very telling. Why focus on the problem, after all? The anti-gun agenda is only actualized when the law-abiding white guy who wants to defend his family has his guns taken away and is reliant on the Government for protection, right?

I prefer that the use of violence is a monopoly of the government, so that slaver flag waving far right wingers like Scott Greene don't got weapons to kill cops. I really doubt those people are migrants. It's far more likely they are born and raised French people, like their fathers, but with grandparents who were violently oppressed in Africa under the nazi like French colonial rule.

Most of the cops that have been killed lately have been killed by BLM and their supporters. I guess that's OK though, right? Do you only care about cops when "far right wingers" are involved?

Black people have been victimized by a rather racist police force that had apartheid policies like it still was the 1960's, resulting in mass incarceration the black community and murdering unarmed black people. It's a fact. But I guess you think that's ok.

There is no "law abiding black majority" in this country. We have a white majority. Blacks are only 13% of the US population, so how could they have a majority?

White ownership of guns is the highest of any racial group. They commit a disproportionately low amount of violent crime compared to their population size. The same cannot be said about blacks.
