Most serious shooters buy in quantity to save money and time. I usually buy 22 LR ammo in case lots of 5000-which costs about 100-150 dollars. Guess what Lieyawatha--people who murder others aren't buying 1000s of rounds of ammo in 99% of the cases. It's just another scheme by some of the most worthless POSs in congress and the senate to harass gun owners and lawful shooting sports participants.

If anyone can show me even one instance of someone using a handgun or rifle bullet to commit a crime, without a gun to fire that bullet, I would be extremely surprised.
Can anyone show one example of a crime that would have been prevented if background checks were required for buying bullets, in addition to guns (which is already required)?

(keep in mind almost no crimes are committed with homemade guns, it is extremely super rare, at least in the U.S. Apparently it's much easier and pragmatic for a criminal to illegally obtain a gun from somewhere else. Not only that but homemade guns often do not work very well and may not be reliable)

well I crushed Australia's top skeet shooter at some world cup years ago. I was shooting 300-400 targets a day sometimes back then. How many golf balls to you think Tiger woods hit on his way to being world #1. How many table tennis balls do you think Ma Long (THE GOAT in that sport) hit before he won the Gold medal and world championship? I roomed with Mikael Applegren at the 1981 US Open at Princeton University. He told me that his training regiment including an entire grocery cart full of table tennis balls for service practice several times a week. Do you have any idea how many TT balls you can put in a grocery cart?

I don't see the point though. Even if someone was plotting some kind of armed revolution, they would still easily stockpile hundreds of thousands of rounds under this law. Gang bangers are probably happy having just 2-3 loaded magazines around, or about 50 rounds.

Yes, its illegal to drive while intoxicated. Its also illegal to carry a gun while intoxicated. Why is it, do you think, we accept that current restrictions on alcohol are adequate, but current restrictions on guns are not, even though alcohol results in more untimely death? FAR more if we take into account deaths from alcohol related illness such as liver disease.
