Amazing Sam gave that great link to Corintheans where John (I think) tells Christians that they should not sue other Christians, and that they should not indulge in adultery, drunkeness, visiting prostitutes or male homosexuality.

Where does it say in the Bible that female homosexuality is a sin?

    Yeah- post after post.

Yes I agree that crackpot Christians don't represent every Christian, but in the same way, one crackpot flamboyant queen doesn't represent every Gay man in the United States

Romans, Galatians, 1st Corinthians, for starters.....

But forget that.... it says I shouldn't murder, but it doesn't specifically say I shouldn't murder SFJEFF .. so according to your logic, that's ok ?

You have a wierd concept of logic.

Corintheans says that Christians(and this was directed at Christians) should not commit male homosexuality.

Do you think that somehow 'female' is included when the term is specifically 'male homosexuality'?

Now if you want to lump that in with 'adultery', I am fine with that- but then heterosexuals don't have a lot to be proud of when it comes to avoiding 'adultery' as defined in the Bible.

What is your position on remarrying after marriage?

No, I just think you're intentionally ignoring the rest of the verse.

It specifically mentions "the sexually immoral"... and homosexuality (including lesbianism) has already been described as "sexually immoral".

Pretty cut and dry to me.

Unfortunately I don't have enough experience, or concern, to have formed an opinion.
I do know what the Bible says about it, but I haven't studied the origins, reasons and details about it because I just don't have the interest.
    Certain subjects.. I do.
    That's not one of them.

I do know it's not as simple as old law vs. new law in that case.

Okay where has lesbianism been described as sexually immoral in the bible?

    The verse specifies male homosexuality.

That is very cut and dry.

The rationalization that it therefore applies to female homosexuality requires a rather inventive interpretation of the Bible.

So....you are interested in some moral issues in the bible....i.e. homosexuality....but not others.....i.e. adultery.

8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

Pretty cut and dry to me.

Divorce and remarriage according to Jesus is as sexually immoral as male homosexuality.

And apparently less sexually immoral than female homosexuality since Jesus addresses this- and never the other.

You seem to be making the same hasty generalization (a logical fallacy) as the poster I responded to: that ALL Christians are tolerant of homosexuals.
My response was not that ALL Christians are not, but clearly illustrated that the view expressed was, in fact, a hasty generalization and -as such- invalid.

    Is that clear enough?

So, given that you've previously indicated that:
Why is it you chose to be interested in only certain "sins"?

    I already told you, dude.

    Romans 1

Here are verses 26 & 27: For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

Likewise = "in the same way". http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/likewise

Women had unnatural relations that men LIKEWISE had with other men.

Again.. cut and dry to me.

Unless you're going to stick with "it wasn't SPECIFICALLY said so it must be OK".... as I called you out on yesterday.
But you have to accept that that falls flat now that you have actually read a verse of the Bible that contradicts your claim.

Wrong. It specifies homosexual activity. Women, and LIKEWISE men.

Uh yeah... your attempts to go after my choices in what I study are useless.

I study deeply, the issues that interest me, affect me or affect people I know.

I'll get to the rest in time.

You should Google the difference between "interest" and "study".

Then see if your question becomes relevant to me, or even yourself.

Good luck on the Googling... and persuading me to answer.

Likewise in that context refers to having relations "contrary to nature." Women had relations contrary to nature, likewise so did men. However, it was never specified what relations women were having that were contrary to nature. Nothing requires that the specific relations be the same for both men and women. Perhaps women were having sex with animals, contrary to nature, and likewise men were having sex with men, contrary to nature.

There is no way to infer with certainty what you are claiming the passage says based on the language used in the passage.

That's amusing. According to your statement, the difference between "study" and "interest" is irrelevant. Let's look at it again:
It's very clear that you have chosen not to "study" one topic of sin because that sin does not "interest" you.
This seems odd given that you also claim that:
So, given that all sins are of equal importance, why does one peak your interest and deserve "study" while others do not?

To be clear: if adultery and homosexuality are equally "offensive to God", why is it you "just don't have the interest" in only one of them?

Fascinating. What interests you, affects you, or affects the people you know in regards to the Bible and homosexuality?

See, I find the issue of Divorce in the Bible as interesting as the issue of homosexuality in the Bible.

Especially since Christ addressed the first, but not the second.

Not just sin- Roman's points out that the proper punishment for not respecting your parents is death.

If all sin is sin......if homosexuality is the same as murder is the same as being rude to your parents.....why do Conservatives spend so much more time condemning homosexuality than children's behavior towards their parents?

That's my point exactly, and one that is famously shared by the Pope (though I doubt there's much else he and I agree on).
