Those numbers would mean something if 100% of the people had been polled.

PEW is a reliable source. Do you have another source?

Pew predicted Clinton would win the 2016 election. Explain how reliable they are?

Your study on what people think is irrelevant.

It may be irrelevant to you, but many people are interested in learning what people think.

Until you all don't like what they think. Then, they racists, gun nutters, ammosexuals, domestic terrorists, etc.

Half the country functions at a level barely higher than retarded. People can think whatever they want but their opinions don't dictate our laws

People elect the lawmakers, so of course their opinions matter, and SHOULD matter since the government serves the people, not vice versa as you seem to think.

As for you dissing Americans as retards, I can say the average IQ in US is 98, while a person is considered retarded when IQ is below 70. There are about 7 million such people in US, or about 2%

Once again, I am so glad I live in a state with "Constitutional Carry" where any legal gun owner can carry open or concealed with no requirements for permits, registration, waiting periods, magazine capacity restrictions, or other "impingements" to a citizen's right to own or bear arms.
    TEXAS!!! WHERE FREEDOM LIVES!!

They of course will not be specific, because they know that either the proposed solutions will be too radical and unacceptable to the majority of Americans, or the other side will be able to pull apart their arguments and show how illogical they are.

That and getting into the actual nitty details requires too much thinking for more people.
A lot of people are simple-minded and just think the more bans, restrictions and regulations there are, the better.

And I like how so many of them say that Democrats don't want a total gun ban but once in a while you get several of them around here that say that's exactly what they want.

Sometimes the truth is told by accident.

One would have to be one of those 2% to believe that you are not anti-gun.

I think one half of Democrats are denial or complete ignorance about what the other half wants to do.
But the thing is, even if that half succeeded in getting that, most of the first half would just say "So what?" and not really care.

I don't think necessarily anti gun but more accurately-anti pro gun advocates whose politics support the GOP.

Thank you for trying to defining the views of others, but maybe you should refrain from doing it until you can be honest about it. You know what they call people who are deliberately saying things which are not true?

Some questions in regards to this thread:
    1. What are you advocating here, considering this is your only post in the thread, and you used it to discuss posters, and not the topic?
    2. What am I opposing by discussing what PEW poll indicates?
    3. Why are you offended by learning what Americans think?

So, you just say stuff and insist it is so just because you say so.

someone claimed you are anti gun. I was responding to that. I don't care what most Americans FEEL about gun issues. I know that those of us who understand the issues are who matter. Lots of sheeple will reflexively support polls that push gun control because they are ignorant. I don't care

Awwww.....their opinion doesn't matter but yours does.

    Listen to yourself.

The poll is what it is. It doesn't need to be "supported", but for whatever reason a mere mention of it offends you.

They can't stop themselves from telling the truth, sometimes.

Just like Obama's recent interview, where he discussed gun control. He kept saying "eliminate guns".

It's just like I said before, if they manage to get their assault rifle ban pushed through... Then when they have some mass shootings with a semi-auto pistol that's what they're going to come for next and there's nobody on this Earth that can tell me that's not true because I'll call them a liar to their face.

Someone would have to be an absolute moron to think that that's not true. Because we already know that the majority of shootings occur with semi-auto handguns anyways.

A 100% ban is absolutely the goal. You're correct.

Those who want to ban guns make not bones about, and some others make no bones about adding some restrictions like bans on what they consider assault weapons.

Aren't the latter group the same people who want gun violence in the US reduced to the same levels as the UK, Japan, Australia and New Zealand?

Can't any firearm be legally defined as an "assault weapon"?
