Well that would depend on the type of diversity. If you got a room full of 50 people with all 51 human races represented many here would consider that very diverse. But what if they are all lockstep communists? Where is the diversity then?

Somebody please show me an example where before diversity and benefits were this, we added X amount of diversity, and benefits improved Y.

And I am not arguing against diversity. I just dont understand how racial diversity is measured and quantified. Do three Hebrews and an American Indian have more or less racial diversity than two blacks and two whites? And where would five Indian Indians stack up against the first two groups, and how does that order change if we insert an albino into one of the groups?

Interesting. So when you said "Americans" you really meant "white Christians." Talk about unconscious bias! You probably should do a deep down examination of why you feel that way. I would be curious as to what you discover.

But you still didn't answer my question about what you meant when you said "human society can’t exist without diversity." I don't think I was making that point. Also I never said anything about "The solution isn’t to get rid of diversity, because it’s never going to happen." I never said anything about that either. Why did you bring that up and what point were you trying to make? How does it relate to anything I posted?

But it is disturbing that blacks or African-Americans or people of color, or whatever they demand to be called today, cannot be referred to by their correct scientific term. We refer to whites as Caucasian which is the correct scientific term, but say Negro and you can expect to be jumped like you are a threat to the Liberty of the free world.

And what's the gimmick with "African-Americans" most of them don't know squat from Africa. Can't we just call them "Americans"?

 

What a bizarre opinion. Look, diversity does not imply AA. Diversity for the sake of diversity, ie lowering standards, is destructive. But diversity in the absence of lowered standards is optimum. I'd take you either of your hypothetical diverse teams over a team of 4 white dudes - assuming everyone is at the same level of competency.

Diversity is a highly overrated good thing. It is used primarily by a non-thinking person to lambast someone else, like bellowing that Mr. So and So does not like chicken soup -- entirely a straw man. What is good is a common homogeneous society made of of people with diverse backgrounds. Plus people should b tolerant of diversity.

If you are selecting anyone based on their race, or another way to put that is not selecting someone based on their race...you are being racist.

There is no way you can have equity without being racist. To prop someone up, you have to hold others back.
