I remember when a Marxist was about the worse thing one could be BUT today we use that as a stepping stone, then adding lying and criminality to crony capitalism and overt corruption to get the perfect dem candidate, the Dowager Dutches of Chappagua.

Someone on the news advised one had to travel up to 6 hours from the coast to find a hotel room for that 'hanging out'...And if one can find a place to stay one gets the joyful news that the government will discourage folk returning to their homes for days or weeks.

My understanding is that some sort of Hurricane Control experiments led to Hurricane Mitch, which literally destroyed Honduras by parking on it without weakening for almost a week, whereupon the experiments were discontinued.

Since it hurts a Central American country I believe one of Trump's priorties will be to revive this

Everyone takes precautions, but our fate is also dependent on factors that fall outside of the tactile 3 dimensional world we know of.

Anyway the following is what I believe. It's an excerpt from a book by Saint Porphyrios called 'Wounded by Love'.

    On Dispositions of the Heart

We need always to have thoughts of love for our brothers and sisters. We need to have goodness and love in our soul. Man has such powers that he can transmit good or evil to his environment. These matters are very delicate. Great care is needed.

We need to see everything in a positive frame of mind. We mustn’t think anything evil about others. Even a simple glance or a sigh influences those around us. And even the slightest anger or indignation does harm. We need to have goodness and love in our soul and to transmit these things.

We need to be careful not to harbour any resentment against those who harm us, but rather to pray for them with love. Whatever any of our fellow men does, we should never think evil of him. We need always to have thoughts of love and always to think good of others.

Look at Saint Stephen the first martyr. He prayed, Lord, do not hold this sin against them. We need to do the same.

"Man has such powers that he can transmit good or evil to his environment." -- Only if we're talking about real (physical, measurable) actions taken, but then "good" and "evil" are also subjective measures, so how do we measure the result? In short, this statement says nothing of substance.

Who is to say what our "fate" is "dependent" on? If you're not superstitious, you won't believe that there are ethereal beings or other such forces impacting the natural course of events. Rather, you'll accept that things happen according to natural laws, not all of which we are able to measure or predict, however. Thus we cannot know the future, yet we also cannot say that there is something we can talk to in what is called "prayer" that will intercede on our behalf also. So far, this is what science supports based on testing and observation.

Science cannot define 'love'. As an example, the love I have for my dog and the love it gives in return as a reaction to my love? Science can tell us yes it exists, but it can never tell us the how and why it exists... unless they start looking beyond the world's present understanding of reality.

As for prayer; when a person turns to a greater power for help, it's an admission of their own inadequacy as a human being to solve all problems. In other words, it tears down our barrier of pride which hinders us from gaining knowledge. Wasn't it Aristotle who said that wisdom starts when we realize how little we know.

As for knowing future events, well read up on Mitar Tarabich. A real prophet there.

Our dogs are pack animals and we are pack animals and over a time period that is not a small fraction of human beings existence we had form a mutual beneficial association with them.

There is no unknown as to why I love my dog and he love me.

And still seeing ads to help those poor Haitians while we have our own suffering from the storm in this country that need help. No doubt poop francis will admonish White countries for not helping third world countries enough, telling us to take in millions more, with no mention of the needy within our own borders.

On the contrary, science does study emotions as a part of cognitive and neurological studies. Google it. :D

We don't need prayer to be humble, but I recognise that it's a useful psychological tool that people use to achieve that end. It's just a silly, superstitious way of going about it, and it's not as effective as embracing a sceptical and scientific outlook. If you learn to think scientifically, you'll understand how humble we can be when trying to understand nature in all of its intricacies. And the best part is that science offers real hope of doing so.

As for your "prophet", you first have to be able to control for fraud and other issues. The world has absolutely no shortage of shysters who will make crap up for gullible (typically religious) people to swallow. That little dynamic of scheming liars and gullible masses is why religion succeeds as well as it does. Sheep led by wolves in sheep's clothing.

Everyone has their experiences, and they reason according to those experiences. I can't say I had any that changed me from being an atheist into a devout Christian, other than an enlightenment, but once I did become devout, I have had thousands of mystical experiences that there was no accounting for. I also noticed the mathematical improbability of certain things, which could only be answered by the presence of outside influences and forces.

Most important though is that my reasoning and perceptions of things changed, so what I saw as unjust before had now become justified, and what I saw as justified before became unjustified... like for instance abortion.

As for shysters, that depends on a person's individual discernment ...which really depends on a person's spiritual state. There's a psalm that says they who deceive will always be deceived, and they will continue to deceive, and continue to be deceived... and it's so true. I knew someone who was very cunning, and it surprised me how easily they were being deceived by someone else I knew who was a complete sociopath.

And religious zealots use that as an excuse to persecute others. After all, they prayed and god told them to do it. Which god? The muslims say god told them to kill no believers. The jews said god deeded the land to them and they have a right to kill palestinians. The xtards say god told them to save the poor wretched 'immigrants' while ignoring the needy already within their borders, and ignoring the risk of disease and violence they bring to their own people.

The Haitians murdered all their own whites when they revolted against slavery. No white need feel obligated to help them IMO. It's easy to recognize many people from Haiti. They have a special glint of wildness and bloodlust in their eyes.

We ended up evacuating to the Villages; came back Saturday morning and found the house intact with no water damage although we lost quite a few shingles. Power was out but came back today, so getting back to normal.
