I just wish this could have been one thing Americans could have shown some collective unity on. We in-fought this much during a pandemic, can you imagine how bad morale will be when/if a major war begins?

Engineering and virology are not "Facebook Qtard myths"... To think so is laughable and deserves mockery and ridicule.

I've already addressed this ad nauseum. Nothing has refuted the fact that a virus is a hell of a lot smaller than the pores of a mask and will go right through it.

Masks are great for a number of particulates that a person becomes exposed to with regard to gardening, sanding, woodworking, and numerous other activities of the sort, but they are useless against viruses.

And yet doctors/nurses wearing the right masks were able to enter COVID saturated environments on a daily basis working 10 hour shifts at a time without constantly being sick. I know you're going to come back and tell me its because they're Jedis with super-human immune systems but I just don't buy that.

    Your comparisons suck. Here's why:

Bulletproof vests work according to their specifications and for their intended purposes, just like masks do. Nobody has ever advocated for banning masks, so there's no need to be dishonest about that. Just like a bulletproof vest rated to stop a .22cal bullet won't stop a .50cal bullet, a mask rated to filter out 95% of particulate 3 microns or larger in diameter is not going to filter out particulate that is 0.1 or less microns in diameter.

    Basic mathematics.

These two examples aren't even remotely close to the argument being made, as they have nothing to do with engineering specs, thus they can be dismissed on sight.

... and the same is true for doctors/nurses NOT wearing masks at all.

No need to be a Jedi or have a super-human immune system... A regular human immune system will do.

If a rather fatal disease (such as ebola) is being dealt with, then doctors/nurses will be dressed up in full bio-hazard gear that is VERY carefully removed and disposed of. That's not being done with regard to COVID because it isn't necessary because COVID is a rather mild SARS variant that typically presents itself as a mild flu does.

HA!!!! This was the exact point I was going to make. You would never see anyone mask up and come in contact with an ebola patient, they would be in full bio gear.

Now those "pro-masking" as you put it look as stupid as the guy in the OP...

See Friday before the SOTUS and the CDC...

The data, and now the CDC agree that the masking didn't do anyone any good. At this point, do you suppose that your mockery is more a reflex than a data driven scientific prescription? Ill tell you this. If you are sick, and you think you'd be protecting others by wearing a mask, at least you're trying to be courteous. If you think that wearing a mask protects you, the wearer? Really? Nothing in the data indicates this.

I though y'all progressive folks were supposed to want us to follow the science.. and yet here you are.....

Let us be honest. It protects the patient from the mask wearer. Mostly. But the data show that isn't the case all of the time. But who wants to wear those insane looking space suits just to go to starbucks, and what shoes would you wear with it?

I kid, but the data is the data. Worse, what it really looks like also indicates is that mask wearing itself promoted a lot more sickness in those wearing them than had they not worn them. But when democrats attacked anyone who said the obvious findings of said medical study, had them "othered" for their heresy, well, it becomes a real problem for the rest of us.

I suppose the answer to that is soon to be answered as Biden marches the country off the cliff to WWIII. Think about it this way. Had folks on the left been the slightest bit rational and reasonable and not all petty little tyrants they turned into, perhaps the response from the rest of the folks would have been more civil. But, when you have folks in your party calling folks names, attacking them publicly, etc, that really doesn't lend itself to good civility, does it. Not a question. How about this, should Biden push the nation to war, do you expect conservatives to react as badly as progressives/liberals did when it was a conservative rooting out evil in the middle east? Hard to know. I cannot answer that for you and team. But I think that the conservative response to trying to keep Russia inside of a border has to be effected by how miserably this administration has failed to sustain the integrity of our own border.

One of the lessons that has to be learned from this is that in the age of the internet that folks will find out the truth of a thing faster than MSM can create the spin to shield say China from their responsibility in doing the research that was illegal in the US at the behest of Fauci et al. Funded by Obama administration grants that Fauci directed. We knew this within a couple days doing research and found the trail of US funding that was likely illegally used by Fauci to conduct gain of function research at a lab that wasn't certified to be able to contain it in Wuhan.

The fact that the public health folks literally used their power to suppress that, to coddle and shield China is a fact that democrats and their media allies will never again be allowed to live down. And the great thing about digital media is that mostly, unless you're really good at trying to scrub the internet, these digitized recordings of folks in the Democratic party continuing to try to protect China from their responsibility for losing control of the virus from the Wuhan lab will be the lasting indictment of their character and future respectability for the US public.

When you really think about it, if Biden thinks that after the dismal failure of his and his party's leadership just expects folks to be united now in his quest for vain glory, he's mistaken. And even though I personally have an emotional inclination to help out the Ukrainians in their plight now against the Russian army, my first response is, I can't support Biden's directions here. He's an idiot. He has blundered his way into a trap that Putin set for him, and he was too stupid to not see it, was too arrogant to assume Putin wouldn't challenge him. Recall in the election cycle how he said "I've gone toe to toe with Putin... " Yeah, we see how worthless that lie was. In fact, he's actively still allowing the US to purchase oil from Putin further funding the war chest Putin has to punish the Ukrainians with. Should we all support him in that? i think it's incredibly immoral and feckless of Joe to continue to beat his ancient chest trying to compare Putin with the mythical Corn pop. I haven't been this disgusted in a US president in my lifetime.

Can we ignore Biden then, and just reconcile on the idea that the country has it in it's best interests to ensure that Putin doesn't launch a nuclear response to whatever BS Biden commands? Is that at least somewhat reasonable? I mean, y'all voted for the guy, but you saw the speech last night, he's bumbling idiot. He scares the crap out of our allies, not Putin. And it took the EU of all sanctimonious counsels to take an action that might save Ukraine. Or it might provoke Putin more. It's hard to tell, but at least they are trying something to stop Putin from launching an attack against the rest of Europe. What is mess pants doing? Selling us more BS green energy policy? Really? He's distracted by his own left wing. His own left wing blasted him for ignoring their agenda. It's a circus over there.I suggest it's unlikely that the left will even support sniffy in his war mongering quest.

Do you ask then for grace? For folks to simply ignore sniffy mcfingerlicker and give him our support so he can go show corn pop? Is that it?

We did a **** job on mask education, just like we do a **** job on education in general. From piece of **** Fauci's manipulations, to Trump's anti-masking, to these 'do as I say not as I do' maskhole Democrats, and everyone making it worse in between. Masks were always going to do more for outgoing than incoming; the capturing of spew coming out of the body is a hell of a lot easier to do than complete filtration of then-significantly reduced particles coming in. I've never tried to confuse anyone about this but I'm totally willing to let people believe any face covering is helping them personally because technically it is; albeit as part of a group effort to reduce the amount of total COVID containing spew put into inside public environments which they may encounter. The government could have made this a lot more clear but I guess they figured people were too ****ing stupid to understand the difference and, as evidenced to infinity, they are right.

But in addition to being dumb, people are also selfish. If you tell 100 people they need to come help put out a fire at their neighbors house before it spreads to their own you'd be lucky if 5 people showed up. But if you tell them their house is on fire you get a much better response. We need the highest participation in mask wearing and I really don't care how we get there. We can try intelligence and logic, we can appeal to emotion, we make people afraid, or we can just outright make them, I'm past giving a **** I just want the outcome.

Turns out you're wrong on which group is dumb. Turns out that masks weren't very effective at all. But hey, you get all condescending and snarky if it makes you feel better.

I still don't get what you're ranting for then. The use of masks didn't work, hasn't worked, and doesn't produce a demonstrable prophylactic benefit in the future. Why does anyone now need to wear a mask? You're advocating for it, but why? You acknowledge that there is no benefit, so other than subservience what is the point? What outcome to you believe is going to happen now by wearing a mask?

So have paper masks. But they stop bacterial infections, not viral ones.

Several people I know have gotten sick a few times and have been vaccinated. My wife and wife and I never got sick and wear an N95 around public groups.

I suppose I just don't care enough. I stopped wearing a mask back in May and I haven't put one on since. If I ever encounter mask Karen's I'll just start coughing.

There are available numbers, actually. The true N95 respirators are the best at 85% effective against a virus. Regular N95 are somewhat less effective. Paper and cloth masks are down around 5-15% effective depending on material and layers. Bandanas aren't effective at all because there is no seal. I remember when the CDC was recommending bandanas early on in 2020. Government knew all of this before covid arrived. For government to recommend the use of masks was fine. For it to mandate it was beyond the pale.

The argument that surgeons and staff wear cloth masks is not valid as a recommendation for covid. They do it to prevent transmission of bacteria. Even a bandana can help with bacterial infections. A virus is tiny compared to a living cell and every bacterium has at least one cell.

I did absolutely nothing of the sort. Recognizing the difference between incoming and outgoing filtration, and the limitations of materials therein, is not in any way shape or form saying there is "no benefit".

I would still like a mask advocate to explain to me how forcing small children like from preschool to 3rd grade to wear a mask which they will not wear properly and they will snot and booger into, and then touch all over it and then touch everything else with a grubby little hands.... Is remotely a good idea?

You can't get a good percentage of adults to wear them correctly without cross-contamination

    Typically American.

PROBLEM NUMBER 1: The government subjects its population to propaganda, misinformation, disinformation and censorship so when Average Joe starts to get suspicious he seeks out alternative info. That alternative info might be more credible, less credible, or just as credible, but …… at least it makes sense because it is backed up with explanations and examples.

PROBLEM NUMBER 2: In the US logic and proof have little worth. When the propaganda gets running then it’s “Everybody knows” - “With us or against us” and “You are a … “(fill in the blank) Democrat/Republican - Far right/Far left – Communist – Anti-American – Hater, etc. etc. etc.

PROBLEM NUMBER 3: When the chips are down and Average Joe begins to express himself (with whatever facts and/or logic he might possess) he is treated with irrelevance and so the personal insults, slander and provocation begin. “Pube Face” – “weakling” – “Let’s take it outside”. The logic here is that if the guy can “kick your ass” then he’s right and your wrong. This is primitive buffoonery in the American 21st. century. :chew:
