What is stupid is thinking murdering people equates to deporting illegals immigrants.

My point was the inherent absurdity of turning job creation into a goal so separated from the concerns that created the concept that something is justified as a moral good based purely on the creation of scarcity.

    You are not even close

Conservatives want the wall and E-Verify

And we want to squash the elected officials in sanctuary cities like roaches

You are the one lacking an explanation of why you changed the title of the article.

Based on some comments by the Union rep I wouldn't be surprised if the business wasn't stealing money from the workers.

At major Northwest Side bakery, labor issues pit blacks vs. Hispanics
    POLITICS 02/16/2018, 05:02pm

“You’re thinking this agency is paying the same as the next agency, and you come to find out one’s paying $11, and . . . the other one’s paying $14, and here we is, and one is paying $10 something, and . . . we all doing the same job. That’s unfair.”

She says she works 12 hours a day, six days a week, and only recently was able to take Sundays off to go to church.

“I go to work at 2 a.m., get off at 2 p.m., go home at about 3 — I’m asleep at about 5 or 6,” says Lane. “I get up the next night to go back to work. The pay is OK. I’m not complaining about that. … It’s mainly the hours. You have to be on your feet 12 hours a day with steel-toed boots on.”

So if she has to work 72 hours a week she should be getting paid time and a half for 32 hours.

It looks as if the owners were running an organized crime syndicate.

Np doubt because the contradiction between Trump wishing to slap tariffs on cheap Mexican imports (eg washing machines), and your neoliberal competitive free-trade mantra, is too difficult to address.

Your dishonest game is exposed and you've admitted your dishonesty upthread. Continuation of this only makes you look more foolish.

That's right. I didn't make it up. They do.

To not see this is to ignore the facts, or in other words, be a Democrat.

That is the lie or the narrative you hope folks will believe. We are on how many pages of this thread and you have yet to explain why you changed the title of the article, but we all know why you did it.

Your tactic is obvious. Run around the forum calling people racists. That's obvious, disgusting, and dishonest.

Why did you post incorrect data on black unemployment ??

Uh could it because I posted overall unemployment numbers. You can put all this to rest if you just explain why you changed the title of the article. The reason you did it is obvious, disgusting and dishonest.

"My bad" was your answer when the false response was discovered. And there you go again with the dishonest claims of racism based on nothing. It's obvious what your MO is - call someone a racist for documenting the truth of a situation which resulted in hundreds of new jobs for African Americans. Oops - there I go again using the word "new" instead of "more". In your mind that's further proof of my racism ?? Funny stuff.

Good grief superbad. Whether the OP flip-flopped "more" and "new" accidentally or intentionally, how can you read racism into either word??

Citizens may not "do those jobs." Or more important, they not do the work at wages that allow the employer to stay in business. Will the economy shrink? Not unless we passed an effective e-verify law we enforced immediately and universally.

Robots and technology change have eliminated far more jobs than immigrants assuming they actually get rid of jobs. When you go to Walmart and you use an automated system rather than a cashier that is what is destroying jobs.

Wrong. They "increase the cost of labor" (even you said so--see below) which means they extract higher wages and benefits. Union members like that, no?
No doubt. We can deal with the reduced return to labor (lower wages) with the negative income tax.
Polls of workers show they themselves would join a union if they had the chance.

They shift income from elites to workers which is why conservatives hate them. It is not coincidental that median wages stagnated and disparity grew as unions declined.

Paying ineffective CEO's millions of dollars increases the cost of labor as well and in 40 years I have never heard a conservative complain about that.

We can deal with the decreased return to labor by getting rid of the Republican party and jettisoning Reaganomics.

Yep. You're happy to leave these kids in inferior inner city public schools. Screw 'em.
