White Teachers Need Permission to Suspend Black and Hispanic Students>>MOD WARNING<<<

The real problem here is this:

Bureacracy gone wild. Why should we be paying these people? The U.S. spends more money per pupil and gets really bad results. Now this on top of that? BS.

 

It's really strange. I've served under two African-American principals, both of whom are excellent administrators - one of them is possibly the best administrator in the state - and BOTH have said that their biggest problems are with the Black females in school. It's true - the drama they bring combined with their fighting during and after school outstrips by far any other group we have. The males - they're sometimes issues too, but I've made a few of them personal projects and am making progress with them. And we're a school with a heavy Hispanic population, something like 70%.

By the way, my very best students are ALSO Black girls. And when I say best, these four girls should easily be doing high school work. They're that smart.

 

here's an idea: only black/Hispanic teachers can teach black/Hispanic kids, and only white/Asian teachers can teach white/Asian kids.

its what they really want, right?

 

I guess it never crossed your or Holders minds that perhaps the kids are acting out and that is why they are being disciplined and not the color of their skin? *gasp*.. It must be those damn racist (white) teachers!

It seems that way. Of course i dont try to blame racism for every action i dont agree with ......Try it.

 

The school board is assuming that the disparity betwen suspensions/discipline for black/Hispanic kids vs white kids, is caused by racism by the teachers.

The school board clearly refuses to acknowledge the possibility, that higher rates of poverty, lack of education, single-parent homes, may contribute to worse behavior problems with the black/Hispanic kids.

I am a Liberal. I have many Progressives views. But this seems to be clear-cut.

Poverty, single-parent homes, lack of educated parents, leads to all sorts of problems, including discipline and respect for authority. That's why these kids act out more than whites/Asians.

you would think my fellow Liberal-Progressives would understand this.

Nope, I don't. And luckily, I never made that claim.

All I know is that there is a drastic discrepancy in suspension rates amongst non-violent students, with blacks and hispanics being suspended ten times as often as whites.

A good idea is for the school board to review those suspensions.

And that is exactly what is happening. And... what? You're opposed to this? You think it is racist for the school board to not review suspensions given that discrepancy? It's utterly ridiculous. The only way it makes sense is if you assume the exact evidence you know you lack.

By only reviewing these suspensions when given by White teachers, the racism is implied. It's insulting. Why not simply review all suspensions?

That would be racist to blame urban problems on parenting and thug life. You know it's the white mans fault. It's the white mans fault most kids are fatherless and are being raised around a lifestyle that promotes drugs and killing. Hell even Obama promote an attempted murder JayZ to kids.
