:) My proof is right here :
    Kal'Stang said:
Its not powerless. Again, its easier to prove that a rape happened than it is to prove a specific person committed a rape. That is key when it comes to abortion. If a woman wants to abort a baby due to rape then she is going to have to come forward right after it happens, not days, weeks, months later when evidence of such has vanished.

Additionally I am not against the morning after pill as it can take days for a zygote to actually form. Indeed according to science a zygote isn't formed for at least 2-3 weeks after the woman is impregnated. And it is in the zygote stage that there is a unique set of DNA. And if a woman is raped, they generally know it immediately. As such there is even less of a reason to accept the excuse of rape to deny banning abortions."""""""""""""""""""""""""

I think you're getting it backwards. The legal system is failing with the cases that ARE reported. And the process is absolutely horrible for women. What are you willing to do to cause this crime to be addressed?

I've pointed out many times that the issues of rape and incest are just one of the problem areas with the abortion laws being implemented and planned.

If you wish to discuss how the legal system is failing rape victims, feel free to open up a thread about it.

What we do about abortion has to assume our current failing approach to rape and incest.

Hint - stop treating women as if they don't have individuals fears and health requirements, and maybe people won't accuse you
    of abject callousness.

OR, we fix the failing approach to rape and incest. Sounds a lot more productive to me.

I've already stated before that there is such a thing as too much empathy, and too little. There has to be a middle ground, and that has to be based on reality. If that is considered as "abject callousness" then so be it. Say as much. But making false accusations is not saying such. In fact it destroys your own credibility and argument. (the "your" is not directed at you, but generally)

Overall, I'd propose that we write laws that apply to TODAY rather than some nirvana you think is about to happen.

But, I'm all in favor of us working on that nirvana. And, there ARE efforts.

For example, there are investigators who have rooted out many police departments that have long backlogs of untested rape kits and who fail to pursue these cases.

Of course, that doesn't mean the police departments do anything differently.

You can't know the middle ground if you haven't had to personally deal with the impact of what happens to woman who has been raped, and
    it's obvious you haven't.

Nah, its not like my two nieces and sister were raped by my other sisters "boyfriend". Nor do I have a friend who's daughter was raped.

 You don't know jack about me Daniel Light. I'd suggest that you at least try and learn about a person before making stupid ass assertions about them.

Also your "argument" is a stupid one. Can only people that are killed have a say in laws against killing? Does a person have to be stolen from before only they can have a say in the laws made?

Do we really want a woman who is feeling overwhelmed to make the rash decision to kill her child and have to live with that the rest of her life?

This is clearly a smokescreen. Unless you would be satisfied with abortion being legal only for rape victims, you are just blowing smoke!

Of course its a smoke screen. Most people do not mind if someone that is raped aborts the resultant child. Additionally abortion's due to rape only make up 1% of total abortions in the country. But pro-choice folks ignore that in order to make pro-life people seem like monsters just so the other 97% can get abortions. (the other 1% missing from that figure is abortions due to mothers life and fetal anomalies).

Bull crap. Only about 20% of rapes are reported, so YOU have no idea what motivated each INDIVIDUAL woman to come
into the clinic. I know YOU don't want to treat each woman as an INDIVIDUAL, cause it's easier for you to just see women as some
type of number on a graph, but YOU have no idea what health issues, what economic issues, what mental issues have prompted a woman
to seek an abortion. And we don't have to paint anti-abortions as monsters when their own malevolence and control issues do that for us.

We know that a homicide should not be left to the discretion of just one person.

Do you want to FORCE a mentally ill woman to go off her meds in order to bring a fetus to term? Do you want to FORCE a woman who
finds out she has cancer when 6 weeks pregnant to carry a fetus to term? Do you want to FORCE a woman who loses her job and husband at 8 weeks
to carry to term? Do you want to FORCE a woman who is exposed to Zika or measles at 6 weeks to carry to term? Do you want to FORCE
a woman who has been raped and threatened with death if she exposes her rapist to carry to term?

YOU have no idea why a woman has decided to seek an abortion, but YOU want to stick her into this
little box where every woman seeking an abortion is just a sex addict who wants to screw every guy she meets.
Your opinion is as worthless as a backseat driver who will never even drive a car.

YOU were not raped. YOU didn't have to make a decision. YOU just sit in judgement.

Moving the goal posts now? Without even an apology? Went from "personally deal with the impact of what happens to woman who has been raped" to "YOU were not raped."

Either way your argument is still a stupid one. "Can only people that are killed have a say in laws against killing? Does a person have to be stolen from before only they can have a say in the laws made?" <--- you forgot that part of my post.

(btw, you have no clue if I have been raped or not. So shut the **** up. Again, you don't know me.)

And one more thing. I have REPEATEDLY stated that women that are raped should be allowed to get an abortion. So why the **** are you continuing with your idiotic rape arguments?

LINK: Rape and incest account for few abortions, so why all the attention? (usatoday.com)

    Did USA Today report "misinformation"?

Btw, its not uncommon for people to steal due to being in poor economic issues, should we let the thefts go unpunished? That is your argument. Additionally economic reasons is a very piss poor reason to kill a human. Any other time that would be considered a murder.
Mental issues related pregnancies can be gotten over with time. That is not an excuse to kill a human. Especially when there are alternatives available. Such as letting a family member take care of the child, or adoption.
And I don't consider "stretch marks" to be worthy enough of an abortion. (I reference that because one poster referenced such...and yes, I took the extreme, just like you have been trying to do by focusing so much on rapes...something that I have repeatedly accepted as an acceptable reason for an abortion)

So you think the fetus knows the difference between it being aborted for rape and any other reason?

AGAIN : WHY an exception for rape?

    What has THAT fetus done?

Irrelevant. Does someone who has been killed care if their killer gets punished or not?

Gosh it would be totally ignorant to think that "stretch marks" are the only thing that affect pregnant women....bottom of the pit ignorant

Not mine personally, but homicides should be handled consistently by our law.
