Uh....no. That is not what I said. If you have evidence the GOP and Trump are creating prison reform please tell me. I know of none.
You are the only one always asking for proof and evidence of anything even when it has been posted. Remember that. I do not ask you for anything.
This isn't congress. We all have the same amount of political clout- negligible. But your derision sans rebuttal is noted
Gun culture was your answer to why the US has a more gun crime. Now you're claiming gun culture has nothing to do with it. Your flip flop is noted.
That's just a disaster waiting to happen, first sign of trouble and the French will drop their weapons and run...
I don't live in other countries so I can't speak to weather criminals obey gun laws or not in other countries. I can tell you that in the U.S, criminals do not obey gun laws. If they obeyed gun laws here, there wouldn't be so many criminals and gang bangers possessing guns that they are not legally allowed to possess.
I have actively worked most of my life against oppression, for liberty, equality and justice. I am against the human trafficking and slavery that yet exists, however, with those that exhibit continual patterns of violent behavior resulting in innocent victims, I would support, as was done in Rome two thousand years ago, sentencing the violent criminals to be branded for identification by all and enslaved to the benefit of the society they violated; lots of infrastructure to be built, repaired and maintained.
It's a wrong-headed question. Criminals don't "obey" laws. There was a point where the UK had less restrictive laws than the US and STILL had a homicide rate that was a fraction of ours. Gun control has never resulted in a substantive reduction in homicide rates in that country, while our rates fell dramatically to their lowest level in decades as we expanded gun rights instead of restricting them. The solution to crime, violence, and homicide rates is far more complex than something as childishly simplistic as gun control could ever hope to be.
I really hope your obtusion here is deliberate... The gun culture that increases the tendency of law abiders to use guns in a lawful manner and makes euro-style controls impossible in the US is also responsible for the increased tendency of criminals to us guns in crime. Or, in other words, everyone in the US is more likely to use guns for/during everything, whether the activity is legal/lawful or not. The OVERALL crime rate is not increased by access to guns. Crime is caused by poverty and mental illness, not access to tools.
Why do criminals in other countries obey gun laws? ************************** Simple answer, people that obey the law are not criminals. Having lived in other Countries and served in Law enforcement, the people that want guns, in other countries get guns by various means. Wether or not a criminal uses guns to commit crimes is irrelevant in any case, since a crime has been committed, murder is still murder and the victim is still dead if a knife is rather than a gun. To blame guns for crime and credit gun control with low crime rates is simplistic and false reasoning.
Pull your head out of the sand. There's plenty of evidence: So why are criminals in other countries much more likely to obey gun laws?
Unless there is evidence that can show conclusively, that there were significant decreases in firearm-related violence in each of these nations only after the implementation of recent firearm-related restrictions, the figures mean nothing whatsoever. All nations outside the united states have always experienced significantly lower rates of firearm-related violence. It was not a sudden change that could not have been achieved otherwise. None of these nations qualified as being a war zone like the united states before the implementation of its restrictions, so no comparison can be made.
