Why do some guys think they can't get women if they aren't rich?

Your post said that "Real men dont need money" not real men dont have to be rich. so dont ridicule me for your poor english. While I agree that any guy who thinks he has to be rich to get a woman is absurd, and that money doesnt make you a man. If you are someone who is content providing your women, or family for that matter, with mediocrity then you are not a man. Im nowhere near perfect for my girl. But she knows damn well that im never just content and im always working on making things better.

 

Not gonna lie. I really didn't read the first post either. I found that on facebook and the title made it come to mind.

 

"Money" was in quotes in the OP - it was referring to talking about 'money' in a colloquial sense not a literal sense (ex. if a rapper says "I got the money dawg" - he's not talking about having enough to buy bacon - he's talking about extravangance - lambos, Gucci shades, stuff like that). I wish I had put 'be rich' in the OP, but I though it's obvious that no one was seriously arguing that people "shouldn't have to work" - because that is a no brainier.

Good for you - who's arguing that? Not me - I'm arguing against the 'materialist' mentality that's been promoted by the media. Believe it or not, there are enough guys who think that 'because they aren't rich' is why they 'can't make it work with women' - they even use this as a marketing technique (like in the 'penis pill' commercials I mentioned) - and the scam companies who sell "extenze" and crap like that make a lot of money off of it, therefore there are a substantial number of guys who think this way, believe it or not.

 

Donald Trump is a good representative of Capitalism, and his wife is a pretty Eastern European woman. Though I see your point of socialism, there is a different appeal for them but it is probably more on an intellectual level than monetary.

 

Sir I would respectfully disagree here, if a woman was in a similarly dire predicament whom also depended on the supplement nutritional assistance program, together their dual food stamp income would enrich their livelihoods together.

Not all women want to work and have money either, and they could find love in a man of similar backgrounds and interests.

Have you seen homeless couples ? They have the most gratifying relationships together, with their dirt covered faces when they smile you can sense the love in their hearts for each other.

 

Looks attract, it is baser, there are certain features that scream, good genes, good mate. We like to think we have progressed beyond our animal instincts, but fortunately/unfortunately, they are encoded.

Changes take time, but with these changes in society and if they continue or women gain more power, it should be interesting to see what happens in the future.

 

For men 'looks' really aren't nearly as important as they are to women. Women aren't sexually attracted just buy a 'naked body' in the way men are. I've seen plenty of ugly guys with very hot women. Behavior (ex. displaying confidence, humor, intelligence, etc) is the most important way to attract women.

A guy who looks really handsome might have slightly easier time getting a woman's attention - but if he acts like a dork or a wuss he won't hold it for long. He's not going to have 5+ women running up to him at a bar trying to take him home just because he 'looks good'.

Even a lot of 'good looking' celebs (ex. musicians, actors, like Brad Pitt, etc) that women swoon over aren't really swooning over them just because "they look good" - they're more enamored with their stage persona than their body - because their persona in the movies, concerts, etc exudes confidence and charisma, which is the biggest turn on for women

And I 'look good' so I can attest to this - when I was younger I've known less attractive looking guys who still got the girls because they knew how to act more confident - at first this boggled me because I thought that every girl should want me just because I "looked good" (and even told me how 'handsome' I was, but still dated other guys), but later on I learned more about the subject matter and realized what I needed to improve

Even in the animal kingdom this is more or less the same - the male animals don't just have the females lining up to them just because they 'look like they have the best genes' - the males have to work for it a little - this is why male animals have their 'mating dances', and fight each other over mates, etc - the females on the other hand don't have to do much to get the males' attention other than 'just be available', good looking, etc

 

And, not only that, but chics from the former Soviet Union have a better rap than most free chics in the US.

 

This is a reply to the general trend of this thread. Women don't want anything. Women don't want a rich guy and women don't want a poor guy. Because women are not a hive mind that all want the same thing. Some women are attracted to power and money. Some are attracted to greasy hair and big muscles. Some are attracted to funny guys. Some are attracted to smart men. The list goes on and on. There is no thing women are attracted to. Women are not gold diggers just out for money. There are of course some women out for money, but they don't represent women any more than women who don't care about money. So stop all the stupidity please. Stop speaking about women as if they are a monolith all out for the same thing. It is nonsense.
