White people are generally more materialistic and acquisitive than others. One's social status is determined, in large part, by wealth. The real go-getters cannot handle being shown that they are not that special any more. Asians are often conditioned to believe that death is preferrable to dishonor. If you feel like a loser, it is probably best to just sign out of the world of the living. Africans have a will to survive. In some cases, it is all they have. When you have never had anything to begin with, it is difficult to understand why you should get so upset if things are not getting better. There is also the possibillity that it is all the result of the stress of suppressing on class of people to accumulate wealth. When an entrepreneur fails, he usually fails magnificently. That can be kind of depressing.
Humans are materialistic, not just white people. It just so happens that white people are generally much richer than black people. Don't you think white people have a will to survive too? Don't you think black people want to get things?
I think social pressure to succeed is one factor. Thats the reason why east Asians have even higher suicide rate. But from the map it does not seem like whites commit suicides too much, it looks quite average, and comparable to subsaharan Africa. Asians, including Russians, are the reddest. For Russians, the reason may be low happiness. A map of world happiness may be relevant here:
Look at the map and see the reddest regions... Russia and the former Sovet Union. Alcoholism is rampant in Russia...
So how come Argentina has a higher happiness score than Brazil but more suicides? Maybe material failure in the presence of prosperity hurts more?

That seems reasonable. If you are poor, and you see a possibility that you can overcome that poverty, you have reason to hope for better days. If you are rich and still not happy, you might see that all your striving is not going to get you anywhere, so (*)(*)(*)(*) it all.
Wealth disparity could be a driving factor of suicide, white capitalists in America don't want to suffer like the other races on welfare so they take personal responsibility in this respect. White socialists in Europe have so much welfare from their socialist countries that they have more complicated reasons for suicide that are not yet discovered by science. The Latinos and Asians also see wealth disparity in their countries so they act similarly as Americans , while the Arabs just want to see the virgins. The Africans however have the most rational reason, but they are too ignorant to know something is wrong.
