No need to allocate the job, if women or men are inferior for a certain purpose that will be reflected in either less of that gender employed, or them employed at a lower price.

Reasons I'm proud to be a feminist:

    - I believe women should be paid the same as men for equal work

    - I believe men should be allowed to show and express emotion, without being called feminine as if it's a dirty word

    - I believe women should be equally represented in government, science, media... All walks of life.

    - I believe boys should be allowed to play with Elsa dolls and wear pink without being thought of as gay or girly, as if those are bad things.

    - I believe women are capable of everything a man is, and should be permitted to hold jobs they want if they demonstrate they can do it. Example, hold combat positions in the military.

    - I believe men should be able to stay home with their children if they want and it works for their family, free from judgement.

    - I believe women should have children if they want, or not if they don't and that their worth does not come from the number of children they produce.

    - I believe men should talk about conflict and feelings more, and not be expected to physically kick ass all the time for fear of being too feminine.

Feminism isn't just about women. It's about men too. It's about treating the feminine side of us all with dignity and respect.

So does everyone else and that is why they are paid the same for the same work too. The "gender pay gap" is complete bollox and has been debunked time and time again.

Any differences that still do appear in the statistics are due to: 1. DIfferent career choices(when comparing apple too apples the gap disappears almost completely) 2. Women take longer parental leave 3. Women are more likely to be home with a sick child.

Such a gynocentric perspecitve on "manhood" and "male behavior". No man would bully his firend forbeing sad, unless he is 8 years old. However, it is indeed very true that "emotions" is more of a "female characteristic" than a "Manly" one. Biologically speaking that is. Men and women are different and thank God for that.

Personally I believe competence beats genitalia. If you are competent you should have the position you deserve.

But thing is boys in general do not want to play with Elsa dolls. Boys prefer cars, robots and action figures. Ask any boy, any parent or any kindergarden teacher there is.

The problem with this concept within mainstream Feminism is that it stigmatizes the "normative boys" and "normative girls". If a girl really likes to play in her pink dress and act all "Princessy" something is wrong with her and she has to cut her hair and play with toy soldiers, which is just awful. There was a private daycare here in Sweden that had 4 boys in it but only 3 "Boy toys", which means the fourth one is forced to play with the "girl toy".

Yes. Like I mentioned above competence beats genitalia every single day of the week, every second of a minute. However, biological differences still remain and, with your example in consideration, fact is that women are physically weaker than men and less capable of combat position in military. But, if the woman in question really is competent and strong enough, sure. Israel have a lot of women in their army and we have seen the same phenomena within the Kurdish army fighting ISIL inSyria. So, yeah.

I believe every couple is competent enough to split their parental leave equally and fairly between them. This should be up the couples themselves and state should have no say.

As if this is the case like anywhere in the "Liberal West" today. Rather it is the complete opposite where a mother is looked down upon, especially by your own kind, as being "oppressed".

Again, extremely gynocentric statement that does not at all correspond with reality.

We haven't heard that one before...Yaaawn.

Overall, I personally feel, these theoretical delusions and hogwash within "Gender Studies" and Mainstream Feminism is caching way to much attention in relation to its relevance in society. Very few people actually believe in these things yet many states are trying to force them upon its citizens. If you are interested in such phenomenos, good for you. You can have it as a hobby or whatver, but what is disturbing is the huge serious attention it somehow manages to catch.

Just not true. I just finished a 15 year career in banking and there were plenty of inequities. Including the fact that an employee I supervised with less experience than me (his boss) received stock options, while I did not. Of course my boss didn't tell me, I found out by accident.

So things like "quit being a (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) or pansy" are phrases you have never said or heard as a man? I think the media tells us women are more emotional and that men aren't supposed to be.

My four year old nephew has an Elsa backpack that only other parents made a big deal about. He asked for a Barbie Dreamhouse for Christmas and loves playing with his Ironman and Ninja Turtles in it. He doesn't see boy toys versus girl toys, he sees fun toys. Our society and culture will eventually tell him otherwise.

Correction *some women are physically weaker than some men* There are plenty of smaller weak men that plenty of women are stronger than. You are generalizing.

Honestly I have not used that type of language since I was 14 and neither have any of my friend. This is far more less common than you think. Yes media plays a HUGE part in constructing our worlview, I am a"Constructivist" too but to a certain degree. Even Judith Butler (Mother of COnstructivism) herself said "not everything is a social construction."

Indeed some men are more emotional and some women are less, but I believe in biological differences and biology/nature have made women more emotional than men, believe it or not.

See. Like I said. Boys and girls are different and therefore play in different ways. Sure a boy can enjoy a Barbie Dreahouse too., but he'll use it differently from a girl. Next year buy him a pink dress and a tiara and see how he reacts. :)

Change "some" to "most" and I am with you. :D

It sounds like you believe in equality, not feminism.

I do, they are the same. Feminists are actively trying to move society in a direction of equality between masculinity and femininity. Feminists are not man haters, plenty of men are feminists. It's about equality for the femininity in us all.

If feminism is an equality movement then why don't feminists complain about the sentencing gap at least as often as the wage gap? The sentencing gap is at least 63% and the wage gap is 22%, and 63 is greater than 22-right???

Below is a video of countles feminists sexually and physically assaulting peaceful people as thousands of other feminists cheer them on. Is sexually and physically assaualting peaceful passive people something an equality movement does, or something a supremacist hate movement does???

I keep hoping to find some feminist women who are honest enough to claim they are honestly tired of all the lies and all of the liars, and want to try honesty for a moral change. And, try to convince me of their modern privilege in modern times, to simply fornicate me into relationships simply for the sake of honesty as a moral even in modern times.

Honestly because I think people don't know or talk about sentencing gaps. I would be all for bringing equality to that issue as well. Of course when you're trying to get people to advocate for something like "jail us more" it's easier if they are at least paid the same. I think there would be more support behind a campaign about sentencing gaps if the other things that feel like oppression and discrimination weren't still issues. There is a long way to go with lots and lots of issues. I totally agree that sentencing gaps as well as father custody rights are issues that need to be addressed, however you have to prioritize. Wage gaps have been discussed for decades so I think until we at least can check that one off, it will take time to achieve equality in other areas.

I can't respond to this as I don't live in Argentina. That sort of riot would have been broken up in the states, and people would be arrested, as they should. I didn't say 100% of feminists are doing it right, but most are. Of course there are extremists and lunatics in everything. The issue is when all of "feminism" or "feminists" are labeled and pictured in that way and the movement is vilified because of the actions of some crazy unlawful people. But who knows, perhaps that behavior is legal and ok there.

Everything makes sense though. There is a sentence gap because men are more violent and commit more crimes than women. There is a pay gap because women pick different careers than men pick.

It is not possible to feint biology with some stupid gender theory. If that was the case we could just address cancer as some form of "Patriarchal oppression form" and apply some intersectionality on it to cure it. ;)

And Fascism is about the equality for the Fascism in us all. Communism is about equalty for the Stalini in us all and National Socialism is about the equality for the Hitler in us all. :D

So you believe there is a wage gap that is the result of discrimination-eh??? Do you have any proof to support this claim, preferably in the form of a scientific study, and a a blog is not a study by the way because Ihave proof from a scientific study that found all but 5% of the 22% wage gap is the result of choice and there's no evidence to suggest the 5% is the result of discrimination.

In fact evidence suggests the 5% is the result of more choice that just couldn't be quantified due to the researchers model, multivariate regression analaysis.

The choice the researchers couldn't quantify is women tend to choose more compensation in the form of benefits, however their was a high R-value (coefficient of correlation) between benefits and other dependant variables in the model.

When there is a high R value between dependant variables in multivariate regression analysis there is said to be colinearity.

When there is colinearity, you can't tell what's influencing what. Is the depandant variable benefits being influenced by the independant variable gender or is it being influenced by another dependant variable in the model?

However most likely every single percent of that 22% pay gap is the result of choice and choice is not discrimination.

As a banker I have no doubt you're familiar with statistics and concepts like confidence intervals???

Have you ever heard of a study that doesn't have confidence intervals??? Because this study doesn't have confidence intervals. You know why this study doesn't have confidence intervals???

This study has no confidence intervals because its sample is the entire population therefore there was no need to calculate population parameters. This study is that good.

I would love to see your study proving there is a 22% wage gap that's the result of discrimination, though.

Wage gap is referring to the pay discrepancy between men and women for the same job... Not different careers, so ya discrimination.

So you're comparing the desire for women to be equal... to Hitler? How exactly does that work?

I never used 22%, I have no idea where that came from. In fact I didn't use any numbers. I used a personal example where I, the female supervisor was not entitled to benefits my male subordinate received, who was at the company for about 8 years less than me and received mediocre reviews at best. "Wage gap" can include benefits too as that is a sort of payment or incentive for working somewhere.

Part of the wage gap issue is related to the types of jobs women get. At my bank we had 7 executive management level people, one was a woman. Our seven person Board consisted of zero women and of the 60 shareholders, one was a woman. It's not just about crappy employers paying a man more for the same work, it's about crappy employers who don't even hire or promote qualified women to high paying, high level jobs.

That's what you are being asked to prove. Just saying it isn't proof. Your opponent provided evidence against your claim. When will you do the same?

    LOL!!!

I noticed you made certain to post....WOMEN FEMINISTS!!!! LOL!!!!

    But I am a FEMINIST!!

I one had this guy on this forum argue with me...."YOU ARE NOT A FEMINIST!!! A MAN CANNOT BE A FEMINIST!!"

    I replied....."Why not?"

He obviously had never even considered why not so about 3 days went by before I got a reply and he said something like...."BECAUSE MEN DON'T HAVE VAGINAS!!"

    LOL!!!!

I remember laughing so hard beer was shooting out of my nose!!!

So I think I asked him something like...."So as long as I have or at least GET a Vagina then it's OK for me to be a FEMINIST?"

He replied....."OK...now you are just being DIRTY!"

I said...."OH.....you think I am talking about a sex change operation right? No, no, no no....I am just asking if a BRING a Vagina along with me then is it OK for me to be a FEMINIST?"

At this point this guy was so confused he did not reply again for a few days!! LOL!!!

Then he replied...."NO!!! You can only be a FEMINIST if your a WOMAN!"

I replied.....but I could become a woman as nowadays such a thing is possible.

He posted...."NO!!! You have to be BORN A WOMAN....to be a FEMINIST!!"

I said...."OK...I got you know.....just Human Beings that are BORN A WOMAN ARE FEMINISTS!"

    Fist he replied with...."RIGHT!"

Then he thought about it and said...."No...WAIT.....only LIBERAL, PROGRESSIVE ATHEIST WOMEN WHO HATE MEN ARE FEMINISTS!"

    LOL!!!

Then I pushed him over the edge with my next post and I have not seen him on this forum since!!

I posted...."So....now that I have the whole picture of what you believe I have to ask you.....when was the last time you got laid and considering how obviously and deeply you hate women have you considered perhaps going on a date with a MAN? You know Gay Marriage is LEGAL in my state of Massachusetts and I know this Lawyer friend of mine who hates women as much as you do and I think you two might make a nice couple!"

    NEVER....heard from him again!!! LOL!!!

This was like 3 years ago and I will look for this post because I KNOW it is even funnier when a member reads it than the way I just told it!!!

Hopefully I didn't post it on the Physics Forums....but I could still copy and paste it!! LOL!!!

Obviously I am not. My point was that the argument "I am X because I am pro equality" can be used by any ideologist.

And that does not exist! A vast majority of studies out there just lump together and collectivize all men and all women and then draw unjustified conclusion from that. If one were to compare job by by, business by business the wage gap would- almost completely- vanish.

Additionally we are seeing a big change now anyways. Girls do much better in school and a majority of the University students are female. So in the future most top positions will be held by women and women will on average make more than men.
