No doubt about it, there are many hypocrites that call themselves Christian. Jesus spoke of them frequently, but recognizing that civil government has a legitimate role in society isn't "state worshipping" (libertarians like to use the word "statist").

Now about your "war mongering" comment. Let me guess, you believe if we (the United States) leaves evil alone, it will leave us alone?

As shown in this "religion of pieces" website, evili knows no boundaries.

Atta boy, let all of that HATRED for God out...

In review: There are 3 tenets to atheism:
    1). There is no God
    2) I HATE Him (i.e. His Word as seen in Holy Scripture)
3). I HATE Him so much that I'll redefine His Word to meet my selfish and pervese desires (i.e. the 'gay' Christian movement).

That being said: I don't need to go over the Bible's stance on sexual immorality/perversion (prostitution was criminalized, and adultery was a capital offense, and you're well aware of what God did to the boyz at Sodom and Gomorrah), nor sobriety (recreational drug use falls under witchcraft in the Bible, I guess back then they hadn't opened any meth labs, hence recreational drug use not being common). Abortion?
Exodus 21: 22-25 shoots that lie down.

On that note: have a great "I am NOT a libertarian! libertarian" day.

Romans 13 clearly states that civil government has that right. Now if you would like to share the libertarian definition of what civl goverment is with others here (give the people what they want, as long as "consent" is used). then please attempt to make your case.

Drug use predates society. Cannabis 8000 BCE. Cocaine 6000 BCE. Opium 3400 BCE.

The history of Ephedra (ma-huang) - PubMed (nih.gov) <<<--- there's your meth lab

Using the word witchcraft is interesting. Do you believe in witchcraft?

I marvel at how you secular humanists/atheists try to pass off Thomas Jefferson as some kind of atheist, or deist at best. Could you imagine a modern day President taking important life lessons out of the Bible and calling it "The life and morals of Jesus of Nazareth"? That wouldn't go over well with your fellow God-haters would it?

Stick to the typical "But but but, the Founding Fathers owned slaves!" ploy, and then we can talk about a nation being enslaved to sin, which you libertarians are responsible for.

You were talking about Chestorson and Kirk. What was your purpose if it wasn't to either state that they were conservative or libertarian?

I tried hating God, but got no reaction. I have since been quite successful at hating the Flying Spaghetti Monster, with His pasta-centric, anti- egg noodle doctrine.

Why are you making up nonsense .. pretending it is in the Bible. Prove your claim that prostitution and drug use was a capital offense ? This made up abject nonsense on steroids.

And don't blame me for your hatred of "Gods Word" you are the one who runs from the words of Jesus to Paul .. can't deal with the reality that YHWH was a raging abortionist.

Zero comment on abortion being forbidden in the passage you posted. On the contrary - it showed what little value the fetus had .. - the fine having everything to do with humans being regarded as chattle ..and zero to do with some prohibition against abortion by oneself.

    Get an argument mate...

It's been established in an earlier post of mine that Russell Kirk abhorred libertarianism. How about we talk about Chesterson?

Because all deists take the teachings of Jesus Christ out of the Bible and write a book titled "The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth" like Thomas Jefferson did, right?

Thanks for acknowledging that the Declaration of Independence is biblically based (Gotta love those "deists" huh?).

Can we both agree that libertarians, with their support of homosexuality, abortion, recreational drug use, prostitution, pornography, etc. etc. are into "legislating immorality" by not having laws against those destructive behaviors and even worse, openly saying that people have some kind of "right" to engage in them?

No opinion here, it's a fact that laws against, and a culture that denounces homosexuality, abortion, recreational drug use, pornography, prostittuion and all of the other depraved things that you libertarians call "freedom" and "liberty" come from the Bible.

The truth isn't up for a popular vote as to whether it's the truth or not.

I must have missed your answer as to where those foundations (plural) originated from.

Don't remember where I read it, but 30 days after birth was used because of the mortality rate of newborns in antiquity.

And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver. -- Leviticus 27:6

Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them. And Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD. -- Numbers 3:15-16

And the LORD said unto Moses, Number all the firstborn of the males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names. -- Numbers 3:40

Ah, but the flying Spaghetti Monster didn't write a book that speaks out against everything that you libertarians stand for.

Just a point to ponder ... The last time I checked, I believe I read that the cumulative GDP of western European countries and their total population met or exceeded that of the US. It would follow, therefore, that they have the collective ability to man and equip a military roughly equal to that of the US.

We rarely agree on things, but I do agree with you that libertarians are half right.

Cool story. Which has nothing to do with the Bible speaking out against intoxication, which recreational drug use is.

Hence the Bible speakng out against recreational drug use.

Evil exists. Hence the reason I've started a thread about libertarianism.

Did you have to pull darts out from your bible in order to read it? I'll tell you what: When God-haters look to the Bible for it's true meaning (God's love for His creation), then I'll start taking theology lessons from you.

Exactly - even babies and infants were not highly valued .. never mind the fetus. Abortion is proscribed in the Bible if a woman is suspected to have become pregnant via an adulterous relationship.

YHWH orders that children and fetuses be killed for the sins of their parents - and in some cases because of the sins of some in a town who took to worshiping other gods - folks who could be complete strangers.

Fundamentalist go bananas when told how YHWH is depicted in the OT .. and cry "God Hater" (post 173) when told what the Bible has to say .. followed by claiming that the other is running from scripture .

Dude - I am no atheist - just don't believe in the made up version of God that you adhere to.

I'm not going to play your little queen of denial game. Anyone that knows anything about the Bible knows that it denounces sin, and that sexual immorality is a sin. Regarding recreational drug use being a capital offense: I stated that adultery was (hence stoning an adulterer to death), not smoking crack, although those high on drugs often times do commit crimes that were capital offenses (rape, murder, etc.).

God-haters don't know what an Apostle is evidently.

How come you left out that God promotes slavery and pedophilia? Come on, you're slipping, as that's the most common denunctation of God by your fellow God haters.

(For those that aren't familar with the tactics of libertarians, they avoid talking about the moral depraved things that they support, but instead want to talk about out of context things from the Old Testament. Giftdeone is only one of hundreds that I've seen do that).

Hey, you haven't mentoned in several posts that you're NOT a libertarian!

That's why I use the term "God-hater". I highly suspect that you're tenet #3 on the 3 tenets of atheism list.

    I don't have a Bible, and I prefer pool.

It is literally impossible to hate something you don't believe exists.

There is no need to leave a party to vote for a candidate, so that does not make any sense. Trump was pretty far from libertarian, or conservative, so maybe they had other reasons.

I know why you hate God, as I've had many discussions with people like you. I'm sorry that you feel that He wasn't there for you, but you can take something bad (horrific actually) and turn it into somethign good by helping others. The Bible is the source for that goodness.

    Isn't being dishonest a sin?

You are the one in denial. Prostitution and Drug use were not capitol offences - and near all of the patriarchs had concubines.

Further .. you don't understand that Adultery in the OT -only applied if it involved a married woman and some other man. A man going to a prostitute .. or having a concubine .. was not adultery. Get it .. got it .. Good :)

You are just making stuff up as you go - and claiming that it is in the Bible.

YHWH not only proscribes abortion - he orders the killing of fetuses - on many occasions ... so it is you who is the one denying the word of God .. then trying to project your failings onto others.

Deuteronomy 28:18 The fruit of your womb will be cursed, and the crops of your land, and the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.

2 Kings 8:12 12"Why is my LORD weeping?" asked Hazael. "Because I know the harm you will do to the Israelites," he answered. "You will set fire to their fortified places, kill their young men with the sword, dash their little children to the ground, and rip open their pregnant women."

Hosea 9:10-16 10When I found Israel, it was like finding grapes in the desert; when I saw your ancestors, it was like seeing the early fruit on the fig tree. But when they came to Baal Peor, they consecrated themselves to that shameful idol and became as vile as the thing they loved. 11Ephraim's glory will fly away like a bird- no birth, no pregnancy, no conception. 12Even if they rear children, I will bereave them of every one. Woe to them when I turn away from them! 13I have seen Ephraim, like Tyre, planted in a pleasant place. But Ephraim will bring out their children to the slayer." 14Give them, LORD- what will you give them? Give them wombs that miscarry and breasts that are dry. 15"Because of all their wickedness in Gilgal, I hated them there. Because of their sinful deeds, I will drive them out of my house. I will no longer love them; all their leaders are rebellious. 16Ephraim is blighted, their root is withered, they yield no fruit. Even if they bear children, I will slay their cherished offspring."

I use the term "libertarians crossed Party lines to vote for Donald Trump", hence voting for someone other than the LIbertarian Party candidate. Donald Trump was a huge supporter of homosexuality, hence the main reason many libertarians "crossed Party lines" to vote for him:
Why Homosexuality MUST Be Recriminalized! Part 6 | Page 2 | TheologyOnline
Why Homosexuality MUST Be Recriminalized! Part 6 | Page 2 | TheologyOnline

Giving drug queen pins like Alice Marie Johnson a Presidential pardon
    Alice Marie Johnson - Wikipedia

was yet another reason many libertarians supported Donald Trump and his supposed "non interventionalist" foreign policy got the Muslim loving libertarians all excited too.
