Various reasons for which there are a variety of masks.

The infrastructure was in place to distribute the vaccines developed under President Trump's leadership. Biden is stealing another march.

So everybody that doesn't wear a mask gets sick, everybody, and nobody that wears one does. Nobody?

I truly have no more patience for or with anti-maskers. Now that almost one half million Americans have died and the anti-maskers are still questioning the use of masks, then they are now completely beyond help and deserve nothing but scorn. **** them. I've had it with them. Anti-maskers have no love for their fellow man and also have no problem with assisting in the transmission of a deadly virus. It's selfish and hateful. These people deserve nothing but our scorn and eternal damnation. And I don't give a **** whether they like hearing it or not. They have had 10 ****ing months to learn and understand the very elementary science behind the steps people can take to protect themselves and others, but noooooo, they just have to be eternally, infernally, mindbogglingly stupid. So, fine, let them be eternally stupid. Pffft.

And I'd say **** them too if they weren't contributing to burdening healthcare services. I'd say, if they don't wear masks then they should draw advance directives to decline all medical care if they catch a bad case of Covid-19.

As for another misguided thread like this one, the current decrease in cases is likely to be temporary. It's in function of the end of the holiday surge, more than due to the still limited vaccination. Predictably the new strains will push the numbers up again. This virus has had many ups and downs so people drawing political conclusions because of the current decrease in cases just don't know what they are saying. Eventually, yes, the war will be won, but for now only battles have been won (and lost) and it's far from over.

It is such a relief to have a real President who is doing what needs to be done.

Trump did 10% of the job and declared Mission Accomplished! Biden said they basically had to start from scratch on the distribution plan.

This posting is absolutely spot on. Here is the current 7-day average in the USA:

Tracking the COVID-19-Virus in Germany, the USA, Italy and other hot spots in the world | Page 527 | PoliticalForum.com - Forum for US and Intl Politics

    2021-02-006 COVID-19 USA lookback.png

Our average is just over 123,000 cases PER DAY, and that is way down from where it was. The thing is, 123,000 daily cases is ****ing terrible. The only difference between end of December/beginning of January and now is that we have gone from "DEFCON 1 the world is going to explode" down to "DEFCON 2 the world is still going to explode, only more slowly".

Not only that, if another wave hits, instead of a starting point of 65,000 cases per day, the starting point may well be 120,000 per day.

I hate to tell people, but this is not really good news at all. And it will not be good news until we have vaccinated enough to be approaching herd immunity the way it should be reached.

Those who already go about on their knees for handouts from Uncle Sugar will cheerfully accept the next level of degradation. The rest will tell ole Unk what he can do with his advice...

It's amazing how quickly he invented it and got it distributed. That Trump, what a slacker.

People like Fauci are responsible for the vaccine. They have anticipated the next Corona virus epidemic for 10 years and had a plan in place. That is why we were able to get a vaccine so fast. Trump provided bids to buy the vaccine. That was it.

Trump did 10% right and was 90% a disaster. But if you think a few brownie points make up for 400,000 unnecessary deaths, then you and I have very different ideas about the value of life.

By that logic, for every good deed someone does they should get to kill 40,000 people.

When the COVID-19 came, Trump said of the first affected with it, would be fine within three weeks or something like it. Trump said it would go away and nothing to worry about. The result wsa balderdash and we all know it.

Please let's try to use some honesty. Trump never said that, he said what Fauci said, it could be like the flu and slow down in the summer.

You state that there was already a plan in place long before Trump became preident which means there was also leadewrship in place to create a vaccine and distribute it. Trump was therefore not in control of the vaccine rollout which is most likely why he spent more time on the golf course. If what you are saying is true then how is Trump responsible for the 400,000+ deaths? It it simply because he was the president and therefore the failure of the vaccine rollout lands at his former oval office desk?

So who cares what what a lame duck former president had to say? We all know Trump had no real control over the failure of the vaccine rollout.

    Correct.

If I thought that tyrannical lockdowns, mandates, rules & regulations, fear mongering, mask wearing, social distancing, plastic barriers, and plastic wrap all made the difference, then I'd vote Demonkkkrat.

If I thought that shutting down a vibrant economy, forcefully taking away people's jobs and livelihoods, increasing their taxes, crippling the nation's energy independence, and causing increased gas prices were all good things, then I'd vote Demonkkkrat.

Yup, and I'm sure that pneumonia and flu will be making a raging comeback now as well (after "being almost completely eradicated")...

Well, to be more precise, a big chunk of "covid deaths" is actually deaths due to pneumonia, flu, heart disease, stroke, cancer, vehicular accidents, drug overdose, etc.
