Among whites, it's called conversation. When someone, in this case an adult, asks you what you're doing. You realize you've caused suspicion. So out of civility and while still maintaining an air of dignity, you might respond by saying , I live here. What's it to you? Or you might just say "I live here." Or "I'm visiting my StepMom over on Glendale Ave."

For some reason, you find offensive to be asked a probing question by another human....especially if they aren't the same race as you. Are you sure you aren't a racist with a skewed view of everything?
