Well, I don't know that we should buy all the allegations either, Steve. But let's be honest. There is a general acceptance among many posters that Bill Clinton is a rapist or was complicit in the Harvey Weinstein stories. I'm just curious what would make people assume this isn't real?

Plus this story is confirmed by the mother supposedly. Now the accuser is 53 so the mother is no spring chicken. Are they lying? Maybe. We never really know who's lying and who's telling the truth. But shouldn't it be looked at? And there were a few other accusers.

The accusation against Jesse Mumbles Jackson (I hadn't heard it) sounds absurd, and I feel that way about the accusations against George HW Bush too.

Slogans aside, there have been widespread instances of women (and men) being willing to come out publicly and speak in recent weeks about sexual abuse that they suffered years earlier. It has happened to Harvey Weinstein, Donald Trump, Kevin Spacey, and multiple other high profile figures.

Given that context, the timing of this allegation seems much more in line with recent historical trends.

 

Moore should have stepped down after repeatedly violating the US Constitution as an Alabama Supreme Court Justice, after saying that Gays should be imprisoned, after denying lesbians visitation rights, and after saying that Muslims should not serve in Congress.

If your best defense against an accusation of sexual abuse from decades ago is to argue that they would have come out sooner if the allegation was true...then your defense is pretty ****.
