You have to understand that a doctor is a VERY high authority figure to some people, and he might well have told the mother something about the child being "nervous" when the parent was there to the extent that the doctor couldn't get honest results.

This may be one reason most doctors are now offering chaperones when examining children, some even WITH the parent there, to avoid misunderstanding.

 

You certainly are welcome to your voyeuristic fixation, but it is hardly a basis for setting social/legal/moral standards/priorities/boundaries for everyone else ...

Sorry, but that's a bunch of crock if a dr thinks the mother w/child would make her child to 'nervous' to get good test results. A mother is the child's comfort zone while they're being poked, prodded, getting a shot, etc - particularly during the baby/toddler yrs......and as I said, there's no way I would have stayed in waiting room - NOPE.

IIRC, a nurse started getting a little suspicious and it turned out this pediatrician was a pedophile........

Not yet, but as we watch events around us I wonder how long it will be before they can. Already today kids seem to have the mental capacity to tell us they are really a gender that is different from what science says they are....and we dont laugh and give them a lolly pop, we humor it.

You can't pick and choose when they have mental capacity for adult decisions and when they dont. Either they do or they do not.

 

I think you should re read the OP before jumping in, noone was talking about rape. So should those who thought you had something and liked your response. As to legal consent, I touched on this with another response already.

If a child has the mental capacity to tell you they are a girl, when science proves they are a boy...and you support them with that, then how would you not support them if they said they wanted to have sex?

You can't just make up mental capacity as you go for the things you do and dont like.

 

Then we are going to have bigger problems, like kids voting, driving, signing legal contracts without parental consent, etc.
