I hold the door for anyone. If I'm at a door first and there's someone else coming in, I'll hold the door. That's just being polite. Rarely have I had anyone complain about it and the one person who did complain...Well I just stepped through and let the door close on them and let them figure out how to open the door with their hands full. The second they kvetched at me...was the second I didn't give a flying fornication about them anymore. Next time just hold the door open for the person. It's a nice thing to do. If the other person is a jerk about it...just let go of the door and walk away as they're not worth your time.
The topic of this thread was holding the door for WOMEN, so I am speaking about women. Would you like for me to list all of the other people I show respect to based upon gender, title, or age. As usual you are trying really hard to get offended when I am staying on topic. Respect can get lost also, you are correct that a murderer will lose my respect, but until I know that they are a murder they will get a base amount of respect. Never said people haven't made it through the boardroom door because of what was between their legs. You were addressing me and I WILL NEVER hold the door to the boardroom for someone unless they have earned it. Where did I say that women get help because they are women. Unless holding a door is help. You are the one saying the women should get help because they are women.....not me. You keep throwing that sexist word around, but I don't think you know whom it needs to be used on. Your quote from a previous thread in the discussion, see the last word. Please quote me where I indicated that I want women to be better then men. There is a specific criteria for admittance to the boardroom and EVERYONE, must pass the same criteria to enter. If you are referring to "be better" in regards to you holding a door for a woman BECAUSE she is a woman. I guess you can look at that as holding women to a higher standard than men. This goes back on the fact that revenge will get you no where and eventually it will swing back the other direction. This mentality that one extreme should be met with an equal but opposite extreme will be nothing but a never ending cycle. We are seeing this in politics now. This is like a standoff with each pointing a gun at each other.......someone has to lower their weapon first for common sense and REASON to be established. I'm not saying it only has to come from women, but again....this thread was started about women so I stayed on topic.
And what that has to do with women's equality and rights is a Deep Mystery.....door holding does not determine rights or equality.
I won't address every sexist point you thought you made nor defend the "errors' in your comments on what I said or didn't say (too many) so I'll leave you with this which I'm sure will also confuse you: WHAT IS BLATANTLY STUPID is the fact that anti-feminists were whining about "holding doors" 60 years ago. There is this whole trite, ignorant, sexist rant about "Holding Doors" as if the whole of women's rights revolves around "Holding Doors".. SIXTY YEARS of this "Holding Doors" crap !!! .... and this IS the 21 century when you'd think this assinine debate would've been long gone. But no, the frightened must bring it up and try to use somehow for something but never do quite ever HAVE A POINT...ever, never. Whether anyone ever or never hold a door for a woman, man, child, teenager, old folks, the US Marine Corp, the Red Sox or the guy who's going to rob the store it has NOTHING to do with the rights of women OR what ALL women want...., nothing....everyone understand what NOTHING means??? FoxHastings, Today at 8:50 AM Report Your last paragraph reeks of " now, little ladies, you be nice so we will like you and allow you some equality" The feminist who got women the vote didn't give a damn how men thought of them, NOR were they your idea of nice, it was the only way to get the vote.
I hold the door for most people, male or female. I tend to move a little faster to make sure I open it for women, though. I haven't had any bad reactions for doing it from either gender.
Never said it did. The question was raised and I just told what I do out of respect, hold doors. YOU read into it all of this crap you just spewed forth. Little bitter at the world? No little ladies there.......again your reading in what you want. Just that if everyone is "eye for an eye" we will all be blind.
We are waiting on a female Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerburg, Thomas Edison, etc.....they have equal opportunity why have we not seen big innovation from them?
DUH, you just quoted me : FoxHastings said: ↑ FoxHastings said: ↑ What! The day it takes a PENIS to open a door I want to watch!!!!""" I NEVER said a penis could open a door.......READ......read the words.....they do not say I said a penis could open doors.....
Your complete and total ignorance of the history of women and their accomplishments contributes to your sexism. But most people know what women have done....it takes a little effort to find out and courage to FACE IT but it's there ...and your denial doesn't negate or remove it There's a thread in this Forum : ""Thank you women inventers"" It may frighten you because it is only the tip of the iceberg where women accomplishments are concerned..

Nothing, but it addresses the main concern of the OP. I'm all for equal rights for women--after all, I have a wife in the workplace.
WHY would anything you do hurt anyone's feelings? Why would opening her own door hurt her feelings.....seems more likely YOUR feelings are hurt if women don't respond the way you think they should.....
