Egads. As a practical matter, the Arabs should have accepted partition. What were 660,000 Jews supposed to do when the Arabs rejected the UN plan?
If Hamas are freedom fighters then why don't they have a democratic society? Why do Israeli Arabs reject becoming a part of Fatah or Hamas - don't they want 'freedom' too? No, Hamas is Islamist. It seeks to take back what was considered Arab territory. This territory belonged to Syria, Lebanon and Egypt. And before this time it belonged to the Christians and before that it belonged to the Jews and before it belonged to the Canaanites (most of whom presently live in Lebanon.) It's a mess. But it's the only home the Jews have in this world, and having 'right of return' means there's no more Jews. If Hamas wants to get rid of the Jews it will, like any other nation, have to fight the Jews.
My mission is to give the message... You reject it because you are without understanding... go back to my original post, it tells you why. .
Who said one needed a democratic society to be freedom fighters ? Not off to a good start Mate. and Hamas is not a political Party as far as I know .. and Palestine does not have a state .. so this is abject nonsense. The Palestinian fight is a fight for freedom from Israeli Oppression. It is not the Palestinians stealing Land - kicking Israeli's out of their homes and bulldozing .. that would be Israel.
Indeed. But nobody asked the Palestinian Arabs if they agreed. There was no intend to. Their right to be able determinate their own things got trashed on purpose. This says it all that they raped the rights of self determination, while this also says this gives the Arabs the right to remain living where they were. The Jews ethnically cleansed them and refused their right to return and so stole their properties on a massive scale. It's simply illegal for Israeli Jews to live on occupied land. That means they can't live in the WB incl. East-Jerusalem. Israel ratified this international law that is part of the Geneva Conventions. And than Israeli Jews moved en mass to Israel and are illegale occupying a heck of a lot of land where Arabs got ethnically cleansed off. They moved to it, and so they can move away. They can move away, or else reimburse the Arabs over it with back pay for loss of income. I'm not really up for that a crime like ethnic cleansing pays off in the end. That's just rediculous. Most of all...it's not as if those Israeli Jews were not aware that there is a massive problem that they, for no reason at all, only caused to become bigger and bigger. It's their own idea they made it the law that an Arab may not return home for being an Arab.
The right to return is universally there for all. You, me, them. ' You say the Palestinians could have had that UN plan. But it was never up to them. They were not going to be a signatory to that plan. And not being a signatory, being a signatory, or refusing to sign it... it doesn't even matter. It's not any kind of excuse of the Jews ethnically cleansing civilian Arabs.
Israeli troops have entered the Gaza Strip as conflict with Palestinians escalates, Israeli military says https://www.washingtonpost.com/worl...CJ9.gdcpIV68a08r3TjqEkMd3IIFZ0DCrPehsiwsEuR9p They just cannot and will not get along. . Consider how big a part religion plays in this area....... one really has to wonder .... if things would work better if they all lived by simple humanitarian principles. Mix religion and politics and one has this. constant state of angst.
Religion plays a big part, certainly, though it serves to feed the greater problem of tribalism, that us-vs-them mentality. The fact that it has been going on for 100 years tells me that neither tribe has handled the situation very well. I'm also tired of the US being so pro-Israel for no discernible reason beyond simple geopolitical interests. It's hypocritical to support Israel so fervently when they abuse the human rights of Palestinians. It doesn't help resolve the situation when one side is so overpowered and can operate with impunity, because there is too little incentive then for them to work with the other side to resolve the greater conflict in a mutually beneficial way. More to the point, they won't make concessions that they really ought to consider making. They weren't interested in the fate of the 660,000 Jews in Palestine. They were preparing to deny Jews their rights. Not admirable. This is complicated, but your point is well taken. Israel risks a fair amount by operating outside international law. Its 1980 annexation of East Jerusalem may be the proverbial "bridge too far," as may be its growing West Bank population. Tick, tick, tick...
A minority. So? Might by this, might be that, might be not. In the end... the Jews have lived there for centuries under Arab rule. And in return the west and the Jews raped their rights where they could and ethnically cleansed them by the 100.000's. I didn't make up the rules about the right to return, and colonizing is illegal. It's made up mostly by the west. No taking it backsies when you went deliberately across the line and want to rewrite it or ignore it.
Men are a minority--no rights, eh? The total population of Palestine in 1882 was 300,000 people, only 24,000 of them Jewish. The right of return doesn't trump sovereignty.

Why do Jews have a special "right of return" in Israel? They were displaced by the Romans well over a millennium ago.
I didn't make up the right of self determination. And when the population gets asked... no doubt we would have had a winner by majority. Maybe you don't like democracies. so what. It has nothing to do with one and other.
And generally true, read this thread thru and see. The new marching orders from the Dem leaders are to hate the existence of Israel, not surprising given the Muslims and sympathizers yall voted for. Who can be first to run and report me?
