The Palestinians have been pawns in a bigger game being played in the Middle East since 1915, before then it was a quiet backwater of the Ottoman empire where Jews, Muslims and Christians lived in relative peace.

 

Funny you should mention the Ottoman empire....as Erdogan's involvement in this Gaza conflict is very much due to him fancying himself sultan of a new ottoman empire....of course Iran probably most happy to use Erdogan's arrogance to their advantage...who's the tool and who's the fool

The Jews cannot accept 'right of return' for Arabs. That's odd because the Jews want
'right of return' for themselves. The Jews are fine with a 'two state solution' but the Arabs
want 'right of return' as WELL as 'two state.'
Right of return for Arabs would mean the return of the Palestinians to modern Israel. That
is the end of modern Israel. The Arabs can go back to Egypt, Jordan, Syria or Lebanon,
but Jews don't have anywhere else to call home - the Jews belonged to Palestine from the
Bronze Age. Someone said that Jews have been driven out of over a 100 countries - wish
they had mentioned these countries as that figure seems high.

 

Israeli Arabs have more freedom and prosperity than do West Bank and Gaza Arabs.
Freedom is not a big thing with Arabs as it is with say Americans, French or English.
Hamas is both political and a religious organizations.
I support Israel, but not necessarily all of its practices. This latest one is a surprise
to me - going to war over what, six houses?

Excellent. But this didn't happen everywhere. There WERE strategic places where Arabs were driven
out (as would any army) but on the whole the Palestinians thought to harm Israel in the eye of the
international community and Arab nations by refusing to stay in their homes till the Jews left.

 

When and how did the world set Palestine aside for the Jewish State, do you have any idea what you are talking about?

 

Its segregation, by religious, racial or ethnic means, it literally means Apart Hood. Now you got any solutions to how the Palestinians can stop being used as pawns or did you just come here to virtue signal?

 

Its not 6 houses - its continuous land grabbing - been going on for 70 years - in violation of the agreement by which they exist each time.
Israel was "given" its own state .. with boundaries - and they keep on violating those boundaries - and causing chaos in general in the ME.

Now really relishing the idea of nuclear war in the ME - Israel is breaking the rules - and being allowed to get away with it .. Targeting civilians in Iran .. you should see the coverage of this on Al Jezerra .. the ME is in a tizzy over this.

 

Because the last White Racist state was called an Apartheid State, and separation by racial, religious or ethnic grounds is exactly what is happening in the Jewish State.

 

A stable middle east is the last thing Israel wants, there has to be an existential threat to Israel for it to justify its existence in its current form.

Yes, the Palestinian land is being nibbled to death - it's about time
they did a genuine peace treaty with Israel and not put 'right of return'
road blocks in the way of a genuine settlement. Otherwise you are
still at war, and the spoils will go to the Jews.

This land was taken from them by the Romans.
Hamas will not give any Gazan freedom if they managed somehow
to take back the whole of Israel.
If they did take Israel then Hamas would fight with Fatah in the
West Bank. And then with the Palestinian refugees who claim right
of return. And they would fight with Islamic Jihad, and maybe the
Jordanians, and certainly against Egypt. And then we have the old
Sunni vs Shiite conflict, and what role Iran will play in Palestine etc
etc etc etc etc

 

Not sure why they do it either - specially not in Iran - stirring the pot - I am not partial to Israel's actions but, my main issue is the US getting dragged into these ME quagmires - we should be building roads - investing in technology - ramping up to compete in the 3rd millennium..

instead we throw it down the ME toilet. - arming Islamists rather than killing them most of the time.
