Don't buy from Walmart. Work with a local company that has been in business for at least 15 years--in this day and age service is important due to the complexity and techonology. Sony is your best long-term bet because of the backing that company has. Keep in mind that TVs are now like computers.....what you buy for $1000 now will be $500 in a year or less. Good luck.
Our last independent store went out of business 2 years ago. It's either Wal-Mart, Sears, Fred Meyer, or Shopko.
What about regular station programming.Like Fox or MSNBC. I don't even need a broadcast signal to watch DVD's. Wall Mart just had a DVD Package set Horror Classics. 50 Movies for $ 10.oo. Granted many aren't very good playback reproduction but still. Many are also Horror cheapies like - The Killer Shrews -{1959}.
You cannot be serious.Wall Mart has a no hassle policy.Unlike the hassle a manager at an electronics store will definately give you. In fact, one reason for a salesperson/manager at a Best Buy is to steer you if you want a refund or replacement.
I get it.Just to be different ... huh. never even heard of a TigerDirect. Don't tell me,yer the kinda guy that when dining out with family and friends at a Nice Steak House is the only one to order Chicken instead a juicy steak.
It sucked we lost our store. They were really good folks. And I could always talk them down on stuff. One thing that really sucks with big chains. I miss haggling. LOL
you're missing the point. use the store to find what you want and can compare picture quality side-by-side...then come back to the internet to get the best price. i can't believe you don't know about TigerDirect! it's one of the best places to start when buying consumer electronics. Crutchfield is nice too, but their TVs are prob out of his price range. the big box stores all have websites too, and products not in stores. one model that's at Walmart might be on Target's site for a pretty penny less, but not in the local store.
I've only viewed about 10 so far,and the production quality is bad.But at least I can have them around in a pinch. However in the Wal Mart $5 bin of strewn DVD's there are some great bargains.Like double disc 4 Movie offering. One was a 4 Movie Marathon { Classic Western Collection} one with Randolph Scott and one with Audie Murphy.Every one had fantastic color and great photography.I kept asking myself how did they do that.I've seen many Digitally Remastered movies. These were different. They may have been colorized, which I don't particularly like, but the color on these was like an Alfred Hitchcock classic.Brilliant hues and rich color.Hitchcock had the best browns/greens in the business. If you saw a man in a hitchcock movies shoes, they were like somethin I'd expect royalty to own/wear.That or straight from Bergdorf Goodman
I don't Buy on the net.No use in asking for trouble.I'm not about to put any credit card # out there.Or my SS#. Crutchfield has those huge catalogs.I think I got one in my mail a few years ago.I don't see the biggie about going to Wal Mart. In my case,I got the TV I wanted,Best Price out of the box & back home in the times it takes to order over the net.Best Buy is a little farther from home.Plus you order on-line wait a few days { maybe 5 days if ordering on a friday }. And then hope the delievery use's TLC. I don't like the notion of a Tv bouncing in the back of some U.P.S. or Fed Ex truck in 100 degree or more temps.
Use paypall, or can put money on a temporary card you get at Walgreens or wherever. It's what I do, and have had no problems. I don't own credit cards. If you use them internet theft should be the least of your worries. Debt is for suckers.
I've been wantin to buy gold the last 4 months but I don't wanna give out a credit card.Or get ripped { Goldline for ex.} I want to know I paid the going rate and w/o any dealer fee. I used the now defunct Circuit City for all my electronic needs since the early 80's.An occassional audiophile shop for speakers. There's one audiophile shop in Louisville that had TV's to die for. And that was a few years ago.But I've learned to be practical. I have really good speakers and don't even use them for surround sound with my last TV purchase. I kinda like NOT spending money.I ain't buyin any more sound system stuff.I feel tempted to buy a bigger.better TV but NO. I decided as I did with my other TV { last of the really heavy Sony Trinitron} to make it last 10 years. That's my goal.
That depends on whether or not you use the credit card for your benefit or that of the issuing company. I have used credit cards from the first month they were introduced in the U.K. At that time, credit card companies were introducing offers that they wouldn't dream of doing these days. The one I obtained offered cashback on certain types of goods. One of them was on any Ford vehicle without a limit as to how much could be used in cashback and how much was required as a down payment. I paid for 50% of that car in cash and the remainder in cashback because I buy everything I can on the card. The secret, if one wants to call it that, is to never pay interest on the money owed to the credit card company by paying it off completely, monthly, but not too many people have the ability to stick to it.
how did you think it got to the store? you'll have less transit damage from UPS passing it around, then wheeling it to your door than you will from lumpers at a Distribution Center tossing it from one truck to another, then on the store dock, moving it around the back, then you trying to get it in your car, then into your house by yourself.
Sorry to disagree with you but that wasn't my experience with UPS. I bought the TV on the internet and received the UPS tracking number which I followed until it reached the local UPS delivery point. Then nothing. I e-mailed them. No response. I phoned them. They couldn't find it. I asked how a parcel, the size of a 50" TV could have gone missing. They didn't know. I asked what they were going to do about it. They said 'Nothing' I contacted the TV internet seller and explained the situation. I was totally surprised when they said they would send me another set the same day and do an investigation themselves. I received a replacement TV and phoned the store to thank them for their courtesy and also asked about the original. They said they had received it back from UPS - in pieces.
I can't control the product once it's in the store. But I can purchase it IN the Store and make sure None of the cardboard is bruised or smashed corners of the box. Then I mkae sure and use MY TLC till in my Rec room. I remember having an argument with an Engineer about buying a Computer with one them old monitors in the winter.Like with an arctic blast. You can't tell me that glass and tubes aren't sensitive to severe cold. Like with breakage and some internal { wires, diode, relay } developing some plastic crack.Just like I wouldn't advice buying some Great French wine last week and leaving in the car all afternoon. I worked the Truck Docks part time during my senior year in college. Those guys aren't worried about what's in a container. Take UPS for example.Ever notice how sometimes they turn off their trucks at each stop.Tell me how good that is for their engines.
I just purchased my TV on BestBuy.com http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dynex&#...35717&skuId=1437844&st=Dynex™ - 55"&cp=1&lp=1 That's the one I bought. Not a bad deal! 700 bucks for a 55" 1080p LCD screen.
it saves fuel and that block isn't going to cool off to the point you can touch it for hours...even in winter.
... it ... What " it " Who " it " Why " It ". If this " it " is so good how come Obama hasn't used it as an energy policy.
"it" would be turning the truck off...besides, they don't give an extra key for just that reason. you can't lock the truck if it's in the ignition, and nobody wants to come back with their coffee and find the cup holders gone along with the rest of the truck. that really wastes fuel!
A UPS Truck is Diesel. You can tell by the smell they emit in their path.Diesel trucks don't operate good in cold weather when turned off That's why Truckers run their Diesels all night long on really cold winter nights. What else ya got Bubs. Dumbest thing I ever heard of,a UPS driver pulls up to a driveway and turns off his truck.
have you forgotten what i do for a living? the truck doesn't idle for the truck unless it's so cold the fuel would gel, it's to keep the driver in it sleeping from freezing to death.
