Well don't take my word for it...

    Paul Joseph Watson
    Prison Planet
    Sunday, January 13, 2008

Austin NAACP President Nelson Linder, who has known Ron Paul for 20 years, unequivocally dismissed charges that the Congressman was a racist in light of recent smear attempts, and said the reason for him being attacked was that he was a threat to the establishment.

Linder joined Alex Jones for two segments on his KLBJ Sunday show this evening, during which he commented on the controversy created by media hit pieces that attempted to tarnish Paul as a racist by making him culpable for decades old newsletter articles written by other people.

"Knowing Ron Paul's intent, I think he is trying to improve this country but I think also, when you talk about the Constitution and you constantly criticize the federal government versus state I think a lot of folks are going to misconstrue that....so I think it's very easy for folks who want to to take his position out of context and that's what I'm hearing," said Linder.

"Knowing Ron Paul and having talked to him, I think he's a very fair guy I just think that a lot of folks do not understand the Libertarian platform," he added.

Asked directly if Ron Paul was a racist, Linder responded "No I don't," adding that he had heard Ron Paul speak out about police repression of black communities and mandatory minimum sentences on many occasions.

Dr. Paul has also publicly praised Martin Luther King as his hero on many occasions spanning back 20 years.

"I've read Ron Paul's whole philosophy, I also understand what he's saying from a political standpoint and why people are attacking him," said Linder.

"If you scare the folks that have the money, they're going to attack you and they're going to take it out of context," he added.

"What he's saying is really really threatening the powers that be and that's what they fear," concluded the NAACP President.

Well when you get to define what racism is..and not the written word on a paper bearing Paul's signature..
I guess he is not a racist...

I mean it's not like there has ever been any thing linking him to that ?

and for giggles I can get the same stuff about Romney on guns and abortion.

But not on any racist remarks..

If you have evidence of Paul's racist comments or something he wrote, please do share. There is no evidence of Paul being a racist and it goes against everything that he has been saying.

When the President of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People says you're not racist... You're probably not a racist.

Now Santorum, Bachmann, and some of the other Republican candidates... Let's just say they don't like Muslims too much. If you were to replace the word Muslims with "blacks", "whites", or "Mexicans", there would be a big problem with them.

Yep when the past president of the NRA endorses Romney and says he is not for gun control..It must be fact.

Or when someone knows Romney for over 30 yeas says Romney has not changed his personal opinion on abortions..it must be true.

And why have a thread saying he isn't by a supporter ?
Makes me want to know more.. :)

I'm confused by what you're saying...

Romney joined the NRA just before he declared to run for president in 08. He was for gun control as a governor...

I don't even really care about this. It just means that he is a phony and is trying to appeal to his audience.

What scares me is that he was for the bailouts and he has ties to bankers and wall street!

For anyone interested at 8PM EST on CNN Ron Paul is on. I heard he stormed out of the interview LIKE A BOSS when the reporter kept giving him a bunch of socialist rubbish and accusing him of racism. I also heard he said "TAXATION IS THEFT!" as he left. Down with the media. Vote for Ron Paul.

I posted this thread to reiterate that every time Ron Paul becomes Front-runner, and has a shot at winning, the MSM pulls the race card.

The NAACP president came out and endorsed Dr. Paul in light of this.

BTW, This is not a Romney thread. MnBillyBoy: Bring that name up again, I will report you for trolling.

    That is all.

The answer is that even if he is a racist, he's the only candidate who doesn't promote any racist policies. *All* of the other candidates endorse racist policies and would see minorities continue to be oppressed in various ways. Only Ron Paul would see everyone free in their opportunities, and equal under the law. Even were he running for a lesser office in his state or locale, I doubt he would support any sort of racist legislation as that is completely contrary to libertarian principles. If he chooses to associate with certain races in his private life, that is his choice. My grandmother was a racist (and from the same area as Ron Paul). She would sometimes make uncomfortable comments, yet she welcomed my Filipino wife with open arms, and my cousin's Hispanic husband equally as much.

Some people have class, despite their ingrained beliefs. The people who attack Ron Paul for being a racist are not only hypocrites who eagerly support racist legislation, but are also without class.

Quit whining like Newt. You guys have taken over the whole site..and you cant stand a little heat ?

But you could start a new thread...Paul is not Republican..

and then I would agree with you.

    Common ground.
At least Johnson of New Mexico had the seeds to leave and do what Paul cant ..RUN without the Republican party .
Without these 14 debates Paul would still be no body..and this would have been settled after N.H.

Now he is just pro longing the inevitable..
    An Obama re election.
I would have thrown Paul out 3 years ago.
But Texas is different..they love being different..just like IOWA.

I now hope you win IOWA by 40 pts.

    A blow out.

The rest of the country will really waken to what could happen..
and you wont be able to report everybody to some moderator.

Here is a Tidbit for you non racist to consider.

    http://www.usatoday.com/news/politi...l-racist-newsletters/52147878/1?csp=obnetwork

WASHINGTON – Rep. Ron Paul has tried since 2001 to disavow racist and incendiary language published in Texas newsletters that bore his name, denying he wrote them and even walking out of an interview on CNN Wednesday. But he vouched for the accuracy of the writings and admitted writing at least some of the passages when first asked about them in an interview in 1996.

Some issues of the newsletters included racist, anti-Israel or anti-gay comments, including a 1992 newsletter in which he said 95% of black men in Washington "are semi-criminal or entirely criminal."
Paul told TheDallas Morning News in 1996 that the contents of his newsletters were accurate but needed to be taken in context. Wednesday, he told CNN he didn't write the newsletters and didn't know what was in them.

    End.

Is it me..or is it getting HOT in this kitchen ?

    More..??

Nor did Paul dispute in 1996 his 1992 newsletter statement that said,"If you have ever been robbed by a black teenaged male, you know how unbelievably fleet of foot they can be."
    'I didn't write them'
Now, Paul says he had nothing to do with the contents of the newsletters published in his name.
"Why don't you go back and look at what I said yesterday on CNN and what I've said for 20-something years, 22 years ago?" Paul said on CNN Wednesday. "I didn't write them. I disavow them. That's it." Paul then removed his microphone and abruptly ended the interview.
    End

Nah it's pretty warm in this Kitchen because Ron Paul is use to unfounded accusations being placed upon and the Media tends to label him such nasty words that it's pretty common. Also judging by USA Today's rehashing of old news for the 10th time really points out how dead they are when they're going after Ron Paul. They cannot attack his true platform all they can truly do is misrepresent his ideas and try to connect him to sociopaths/racists. By all means continue on with your beating of a dead horse... at least he is one person that doesn't change his positions right when Election Season comes up like quite a few people do.

Is Ron Paul a racist? No, I doubt it. But he accepted money from Stormfront and for years allowed racist comments to be placed in his newsletter. That doesn't make him a racist, just stupid.

I consider it intelligent... Parting money from a Racist is truly a good thing considering they can't use it to keep their website active.

I'd seriously doubt that Stormfront's website was in any way impeded because of a $500. donation to Paul. In fact, it gave the racists bragging rights that Paul received and accepted their donation. That's stupid and another good reason not to vote for Paul.

I'd be interested in your opinion if Newt or Mitt accepted $500. from an avowed racist organization. I suspect that you'd be howling that they're racists.

Nah I'd still consider it intelligent to part money from fools no matter the amount and it's even better when you part money from a Racist.

Fine. I don't. It's in effect legitimizing a racist organization and gives the impression that racists support Paul's positions, both of which are stupid.

Just so you know, I can guarantee that each and every candidate has received more than $500 from racists. The only difference with Ron Paul is that you can't ignore it so you turn it into something it's not.

I'd really enjoy seeing a link to your source. As for Ron Paul, did he really need that $500. from Stormfront? No. But he accepted it anyway which lends credibility to Stormfront and paints Paul as being stupid.

I'm not really informed on this issue, but it seems like if he knew who they were he should have given it back... Just based on principle. But it is also kind of tricky because you can't always tell who's donating to you. For example, I may donate $500 to Obama and maybe I'm part of the KKK. If he didn't know who I was and he accepted the donation, would he be criticized? Or are you saying that after the fact he should have given the money back... Once he found out that they were a racist group.

I don't agree that he should be criticized for taking the donation - because he probably didn't know - but he should have given it back once he found out who they were... But then again, do you want them having $500 more? Sticky, tricky stuff. :p

Paul was told by his staff who donated the money. Stormfront. Yet he kept it.
