That is not exactly the way it is.

I guess you fell asleep during the whole Duke lacross team fiasco.

That was only the tip of the ice berg.

Deny all youlike but it is not whiney and not a rant but a factual answer to a rather stupid question

in this society in a rape charge the man is guilty till proven innocence and they still suffer the stigma like being guilty when found innocent

Very true but the individual I was responding to does not agree.

    Many others:

Catching an STD does not constitute rape.
Getting pregnant does not constitute rape.
Getting caught cheating and needing a way out does not constitute rape.
Him forgetting your first or last name ( or both ) when you bump into him a week later does not constitute rape.
Him deliberately not informing you he had a vasectomy while you're trying to get knocked up does not constitute rape.

examples abound and the list could go on.

It gets worse with sexual assault. My favorite is not wanting to pay a $13.00 cab fare and being angry that the driver told you not to smoke in the cab. 3 women in the back of a cab charged the driver with sexual assault. The cab had a camera so charges were dropped but they never paid the fare and charges were never filed against them.

Not having an orgasm does not constitute rape.

A women assaulted her boyfriend because he had an orgasm and she didn't. Then when she was confronted by the police she claimed she was raped-lol

I guess you didn't read the story about Brian Banks. He was convicted of rape in the absence of any physical evidence and she was awarded 1.5 million dollars, and she wasn't raped.

No, I don't know about Brian Banks but there have been other cases of people being convicted of all kinds of crimes and they have been innocent.
The justice system is not perfect but it's what we have and usually works pretty well.

There's plenty of rapists who get away with their crimes which should give you shivers of delight.

No one has defended or applauded rape on this thread.

The thread is not about all kinds of crimes although you seem to want to deflect to that subject. Despite the fact that the subject you keep wishing to deflect with is found on many threads.

So do you think there are more rapists who get away with it than there are fraudulent accusations which destroy men's lives?

Do you think the wrongfully convicted murderers and thieves outnumber the wrongfully accused rapists?

If you are so concerned about overall justice why not a peep about the sickening number of fraudulent rape accusations which go unpunished.

Names have been provided to you showing specific people who have accused others of rape and walked free. Why don't you name some of these rapists who got away with it.

My concern is with the ever changing definition of the term "rape" the movement wants to list anything as rape, while I don't agree with it. So what you have is one group thatt thinks everything is rape and the numbers are horrible of men who "get away" with it.... while you have another group that argues the only reason the numbers are so high is because too much is considered rape.

noone on here has argued that forced rape is good or that it isn't rape....

date rape is a very gray area as it can include stuff like drugging the female in order to take advantage, or having sex with a passed out girl (which I haven't seen anyone argue against that being a valid definition of rape).... all the way to a woman is drunk and gives consent to a guy she thinks is a 10 at 2am, but is really a 2 at 10am.

change your mind sex also seems to get included into the date-rape category a lot of times....

and then you have the malicious factor of rape. Like what happened to kobe bryant. has consentual sex, but the woman realizes the power of the accusation and uses it to extort money from a person. Or Duke Lacrosse stripper who got pissed at the rich white athletes and accused them of rape being vindictive and possibly wanting "hush up money"

    All true.

Your concern about the changing and broadening definition of rape is directly related to the matters we were discussing. Such a broad definition allows and even encourages more fake accusations. Broad definitions of rape also allow for a much larger estimation of how many crimes of rape are being commited.

It is in the vested interest of many people to claim much more rape occurs than really does. Notice how many people on here have posted reliable statistics on rape but often those statistics are measurement of sexual assault and rape combined, or rape and attempted rape combined. Somehow when politicians begin pushing for more ways to spend the tax payers money it is only anounced as a statistic on rape. they conveniently leave out the attempted or sexual assault part. This is also true of feminists trying to teach and preach their idea of the rape culture. They wish a wide brush to paint as many men as possible so of course it helps to state more women are victims than there really are.

attempted rape - another issue with an ever changing definition that, if too broad, is misleading.

trying to chloryphorm a girl.... yes, attempted rape
getting caught while slipping a roofie into a girl's drink.... absolutely

getting shot down by a stumbling drunk girl you bought drinks for.... very shaky

How is that shaky? Even if she is inebriated and says NO, what is there not to get?

My co-worker was put in this position not too long ago. She went out to a dance club and got fall down drunk. Considering she couldn't remember much of anything the night before I highly suspect she was roofied but we have no proof of that.

Still my other friend who was her next door neighbor at the apartment complex they live in actually remembered hearing her shouting at a guy who must have drove her home, or followed her home, "NO! YOU CAN NOT COME IN! THIS IS NOT HAPPENING! GO AWAY!" and said she was blocking the guy from trying to get in her apartment. She was completely wasted and slurring but was extremely loud and adamant that he leave. The guy noticed the neighbor poking his head out to see what all the commotion was and immediately walked off and she snapped her door shut.

She tells me she doesn't even remember the guy, his name or anything about him. She only recalls telling him to leave when he was very insistent on coming in.

So yeah, even if she is drunk and telling you no, even if you bought her drinks or drove her home, no means no. Sorry if you wasted your time and money and thought you'd get a chance to get in her pants but it's really rather simple the minute she says no I'd stop wasting my time.

I may be wrong but I think you missed the point.

Neither the example you gave or the example Javis gave constitute attempted rape but some would change the laws to make it that crime

I guess I did. I thought he was saying that buying a drinks for a girl and trying to have sex with her after she still says no isn't an attempt of rape.

    My bad.

that's not attempted rape though.... but pretty soon, it will be counted in the "attempted rape" stats used by the agenda driven feminists. When will the ever broadening definition be enough for you? Do you want it to include any ugly guy that asks for, and is turned down for, sex, to be included in "attempted rape" category?

that's a little different than what I described. you are quick to suggest roofies... which is a posibility... but just as likely, she could have gotten way too drunk by her own hand. If so, that's on her. No it doesn't justify rape, but if you don't want to get mugged, you don't walk in dowtown atlanta alone, counting a wad of cash....

if you don't want to get raped.... take precautions. Have a designated driver..... if you want to get sloppy drunk, have somone with you that won't.

No question he wanted sex.... but shame on her for letting him get to the front door in the first place. Sounds like she is conveniently "forgetting" the fact that she probably let him drive her home. Glad she didn't have anything happen to her... but she needs to be more cautious. Noone is denying that rape occurs...

my point was, there's a difference between strong arming your way into her place despite the verbal "no" and simply going up to a drunk girl on the dance floor and asking "wanna have sex" and her saying no. But for some, they want to include my scenario as equal to your friend's scenario when they aren't.

with the ever expanding definition of what rape is, and date-rape.... what I did to my now fiance would be considered date-rape to many on here.

We went out on date 1, we drank.... a lot, I stopped, and I made sure that anytime she went to the bathroom, she had a fresh beer waiting upon her return and let her think I got us BOTH another beer when truth was, I was still working on the same one I had had for over an hour. We went home and she consented to sex.

some call that date-rape.... obviously she doesn't. But I have to wonder if she's included in the 1 out of 4 statistic despite her being trashed, saying yes, and then calling me the next day.
